RØDE will release the 5th generation model of the studio microphone “NT1” on March 23, 2023. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is 46,200 yen including tax.
Released in 1991, the NT1 was RODE’s first studio microphone, boasting a cumulative sales record of over 6 million units and gaining popularity around the world for its warm, silky sound and high versatility. The 5th generation model inherits that sound signature while incorporating cutting-edge technology.
Dual connect output
With dual connect output (patent pending) equipped with both XLR and USB-C terminals, in addition to analog connections to conventional audio interfaces and mixers, you can also connect directly to a computer via USB, making it suitable for any workflow. can be incorporated. Up to eight NT1 (5th generation) can be connected to one PC, enabling multi-track recording.
Supports 32bit float
Equipped with the world’s first 32-bit float digital output as a large-diaphragm condenser microphone, you can record anything from whispering voices to screams, or from quiet guitar sounds to powerful drum sounds, without worrying about gain settings. Equipped with an ultra-low-noise, high-gain Revolution PreampTM, and an A/D converter that supports up to 192kHz, it provides a powerful digital audio solution that is more than just a studio microphone.
Achieves 4dBA self-noise
By reviewing the circuit design, we have achieved a self-noise of 4dBA, which is extremely low for a condenser microphone. In addition, it has a high maximum input sound pressure of 142db SPL and frequency characteristics that support various sound sources, and it is said that it will demonstrate excellent performance in any recording from vocals, speech, guitar, drums, and piano.
By protecting the precision-designed HF6 microphone capsule with an internal shock mount, you can cut off unnecessary external vibrations and capture the sound you want to record clearly.
Equipped with “APHEX” audio processing
APHEX audio processing with a powerful built-in DSP provides effects like compressor, high-pass filter, noise reduction, plus APHEX Aural Exciter and Big Bottom. By using the VoxLabTM editor in the free apps “RØDE Connect” and “RØDE Central”, you can easily and intuitively configure settings and make fine adjustments for each parameter.
The “NT1” 5th generation model is available in two colors, silver and black. In addition to a shock mount that cuts vibrations from the mic stand and a pop filter that prevents pop noise caused by blowing in, an XLR cable and a USB cable are also included.
