Roland Corporation will release the 4K-compatible “VR-400UHD” commercial AV mixer in late June 2023. The suggested retail price is open, and the estimated market price is around $7,000.
The VR-400UHD is equipped with two 7-inch touchscreen monitors. Video content can be monitored and operated by touch. In dual mode, you can display images on the left and right monitors and control the output image independently. It is ideal for events that simultaneously operate optimal images according to different output destinations such as multiple displays, stages and distribution.
The operation panel is equipped with faders, knobs, and buttons that can be operated intuitively. On the right side of the panel, there are scene/bank buttons for switching images, as well as functions for controlling images, such as transitions and resizing. In addition, faders and knobs for audio mixing are placed on the left side, allowing immediate access to the necessary functions.
Equipped with 7 HDMI inputs that support resolutions up to 4K/60p, it is possible to synthesize images using up to 4 inputs simultaneously. All inputs have a built-in scaler, so you can freely combine various devices such as 4K/HD, HDR/SDR, Rec.2020/Rec.709 without worrying about video format conversion.
With the “Scene Function” that is built-in, users can easily create and recall video layouts using the touch monitor or dedicated buttons. Users can configure the screen with background layers, picture-in-picture, key composition, etc., and edit the layout, size adjustment, trimming, etc. while viewing the input video.
The USB Type-C 4K STREAMING terminal on the rear panel is compatible with USB 3.2 Gen 2, enabling live streaming at up to 4K/30fps.
Equipped with high-quality mic preamps and 4 XLR/TRS combo jack terminals that support 48V phantom power, 2 TRS terminals for microphone input, and 2 RCA pin terminals (stereo). In addition to EQ and dynamics processing for all inputs and outputs, it has functions such as anti-feedback, auto-mixing, de-essing, and noise gate.
