Manfrotto has announced a new series of kits for the 055 tripod series, incorporating a quick-release head. Known as the MOVE kit, the following kits are now available:
- 055 Professional Carbon 3-Stage Tripod + XPRO 3-Way + MOVE Kit (Part No. MK055CXPRO33WQR): MSRP of $700
- 055 Professional Carbon 4-Stage Tripod + XPRO Free Head + MOVE Kit (Part No. MK055CXPRO4BHQR): MSRP of $999
Major features of the Manfrotto Move
The MOVE quick release system “MVAQR” allows quick and safe attachment and detachment of the pan head and tripod, saving storage space in the case when transporting. Also, if you use multiple MVAQR units, you can easily change the settings such as changing the pan head with the camera fixed to another tripod or slider, or placing a different pan head on the tripod. Note that the MVAQR plate can be sold separately.
With the 055 carbon tripod, the angle of the center pole can be changed by 90° to make it horizontal, and even when the legs are opened to the maximum, the center pole does not touch the ground.
It is also equipped with a 3/8″ screw Easy Link system that allows you to add an arm to hold accessories such as small lights and reflectors.
The 3-stage tripod comes with a 3-way head (MHXPRO-3W), and the 4-stage tripod comes with a free head (MHXPRO-BHQ2). Both heads are equipped with a friction control function that can optimize movement according to the size and weight of the equipment. MHXPRO-3W can be stored compactly during transportation because the tilt and level pan bars are telescopic.
