Sony has announced the upcoming launch of a new Sony Alpha camera. The announcement will be held on August 29th, at 11pm Japan standard time, or 10am Eastern Daylight time.
The new camera is rumored to be the next generation of the Sony Alpha 7C camera. The camera is also suspected to have improved autofocus, a fully-articulated screen, and 4K 60fps filming. More importantly, the new Sony Alpha 7C should incorporate AI functionalities that previous Sony cameras have incorporated, continuing the trend of AI-assisted subject recognition, focal stabilization, and other related AI functionalities that are being incorporated into today’s cameras.
AI and autofocus has been a major focus of improvement for Sony cameras this product cycle. With the introduction of artificial intelligence, subject detection has been proven to be vastly improved. This has allowed new cameras from all makers to improve their autofocus capabilities, especially during shooting film. It will be interesting to see the capabilities of this new camera, incorporating AI functions in the already-successful Alpha 7C platform.
