The Camera and Imaging Products Association (CIPA) will hold “CP+2024,” the world premiere show for cameras and photography, from February 22nd to 25th, 2024. The event will be an on-site event at Pacifico Yokohama, and an online event.
In addition to exhibiting new products, we plan to hold a number of exhibitions and projects aimed at everyone who loves photography and video, from beginners to professionals. Pre-registration for attendees is accepted on the official website.
The previous “CP⁺2023” event was held at Pacifico Yokohama for the first time in four years, and many camera, photo, and video enthusiasts participated in the touch-and-try and face-to-face seminars and lectures. It has become a long-awaited event each year.
CP+ 2024 – What to expect
Continuing from last year, this year’s venue event has high expectations from users, and the number of exhibitors and organizations greatly exceeds the previous CP⁺2023 (exhibition record: 44 companies), with 88 companies scheduled to exhibit (as of December 7th). ) has returned to pre-coronavirus levels (CP⁺2019 exhibitor record: 89 companies). Including media partners and student organizations, it will be one of the world’s largest photo and video events with over 100 participating organizations.
“CP⁺2024” will feature a large number of photo exhibitions, including “VIDEOGRAPHERS TOKYO IN CP+,” a special event with Vook for video creators and those who want to become video creators in the future, and “ZOOMS Joint Photo Exhibition,” as well as an impressive photo exhibition. They have prepared content for all kinds of photography and video fans, including a giant Plarail diorama, a workshop for parents and children to enjoy, and a kitchen car area where you can enjoy gourmet food.

Highlights of CP+ 2024
We will hold special events related to video shooting and production, which has been in high demand in recent years.
VIDEOGRAPHERS TOKYO IN CP+
Japan’s largest video creator platform “Vook” will hold an event on CP+ ahead of “VIDEOGRAPHERS TOKYO” to be held in July 2024.
A stage session will be held to discuss cutting-edge creativity. The theme is “Is AI a rival or partner for creators?” As photographs, videos, designs, etc. created by AI rapidly increase, how will the role and scope of work of creators change in the next few years? What role should creators play in the AI era? What skills are required? These topics will be discussed thoroughly over three days.
The navigators are Shuntaro Okamoto, the representative of Vook, and Hayato Sone, a video director who is active in dramas and movies. Top creators will be invited for talk sessions each day. Also at the booth, the video production school “Vook school” will be holding a workshop for beginners in video production.

There will be a variety of photo exhibitions, from world-famous photo contests such as ZOOMS JAPAN, to photos of cute cats.
- ZOOMS joint photo exhibition: CP+ 2024 and Salon de la Photo will hold a joint photo exhibition to further deepen exchanges between Japanese and French photographic cultures. “ZOOMS JAPAN” has been held since 2015 by CP+ in support of the French photo contest “LES ZOOMS” (sponsored by Salon de la Photo) and to support the advancement of up-and-coming photographers into the world.
- Cat photo exhibition @ CP+ 2024 ~Kioku Kiroku of cats living today~: cute! interesting! cool! It’s coming! This cat photo exhibition is full of scenes you won’t see anywhere else, captured by 41 cat photographers from all over Japan, each with their own individuality. The exhibit will feature 82 works by 41 cat photographers active across Japan, ranging from local cats living in cities and fishing ports to photographs of the artists’ beloved cats. This exhibition was directed by photographer Toshimitsu Hoshino, who has held many large-scale cat photo exhibitions such as the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Cat Photo Exhibition, and carefully selected works from posts on SNS and works from photo exhibitions held in the past. and exhibit it.
- THE STREETS by VoidTokyo: An exhibition of works by VoidTokyo, a street photography group with many fans both domestically and internationally. A total of 11 people will participate, including winners of a global photo contest.
- 11 Perspectives, 11 Universes: The work of each of the 11 photographers has a unique personality, atmosphere, statement, and worldview, and each is a unique universe. What kind of universe is reflected in the eyes of the photographers who are experimenting with various things in the current Japanese photography world?
- Photo Koshien 2023 Exhibition of works submitted by the final public screening of schools that advanced to the main tournament: Photo Koshien 2023 exhibition celebrates its 30th anniversary. Introducing the works of the 19 finalist schools that won out of a competition of 584 schools, the largest number ever.
Family-friendly content booth and workshop for parents and children
This year, there will be enriching family-friendly programs. The booths are designed for parents to let their kids play, and parents are encouraged to photograph their kids in these booths.

- Plarail diorama: A huge Plarail diorama is coming to CP⁺2024! A very impressive exhibit that is fun to look at and fun to take pictures of. (In cooperation with Takara Tomy Co., Ltd.)
- Papercraft big city diorama: A 1/2200 scale diorama by Toshi, a popular paper craft artist on SNS, will be displayed. Tokyo Marunouchi and Shinjuku West Exit are popular tourist spots and photographic subjects in Tokyo.

For video beginners, this workshop will explain in an easy-to-understand manner, including demonstrations, everything from gimbals and other equipment necessary for video shooting to initial settings and shooting techniques. “Father of 2 children and sibling photo talk & photoshoot experience” (Saturday, February 24th 16: 00-17:00)
A sibling photo talk with Yuto Yasuda, “Honopapa,” who is popular for his daily landscape photos with children. The moderator is Fuko Kanbara, a mom writer from the Kansai photo club SHARE. The workshop will also include a children’s photographer experience based on the video “I tried letting my 7-year-old daughter hold a camera…” which has been viewed over 4 million times on Instagram.
