SmallHD has announced the SmallHD Ultra 7, a highly durable, high-brightness flagship monitor from the Smart 7 series. Featuring a next-generation platform featuring the same technology as SmallHD’s elite 4K production monitors and integrated with Teradek’s new Bolt 6 wireless platform, the Ultra 7 is designed to perform in a variety of production environments.

SmallHD Ultra 7 Features
The SmallHD Ultra 7 has a color-accurate touchscreen that can display up to 2300 nits of full-screen brightness, ensuring visibility in any environment. SmallHD provides the powerful I/O required by the dynamic needs of film production. The 6G-SDI input enables ingest and pass-through of up to 4K30p video signals, delivering precise focus and detail when zoomed pixel by pixel. SmallHD’s award-winning PageOS software offers flexible touchscreen or joystick control, with large tactile buttons offering the ultimate level of customization and functionality.
Durability, airtightness, versatility
Ultra 7 is characterized by high durability. Additionally, a sealed thermal management system allows the Ultra 7 to operate in various temperature ranges from 0°C to 40°C. The machined chassis is reinforced with a new design that includes raised edges to protect the display front glass and silicone bumpers to absorb falls and shock.
Quick release sun hood
The attention to ergonomics in every element of the Ultra 7 extends to the newly reborn quick-release sun hood (sold separately). The design clips securely to the front of your monitor without tools or screws and quickly converts to a 3- or 4-sided hood using hidden magnets. The new sun hood is constructed with an anti-reflective felt backing that transforms into a durable cover that protects the monitor glass when the hood is closed.
Teradek Bolt 6 equipped
The Ultra 7 can be purchased with a fully integrated Teradek Bolt 6 transmitter or receiver in the same size chassis as the standard model. These integrated wireless monitors feature rugged antenna caps to reduce antenna damage and are available in Bolt 6 750 range and 1500 range models. The “Ultra 7 RX” kit includes a handle, padded strap, and wooden camera micro battery plate (GM, VM, B mount).
SmallHD Ultra 7 Smart connectivity
Integrated Ethernet and 5-pin USB ports anchor flexible and intuitive PageOS integrated camera control options on every page for ARRI, RED, and Sony VENICE cameras, while TX and RX models are wireless using clear 6GHz radio waves. It also supports camera control.
