Tamron announced they updated TAMRON Lens Utility Mobile, Tamron’s proprietary application for Android OS smartphones and tablets that supports video production. The newest version is TAMRON Lens Utility Mobile Version 4.0.
In this update, usability has been improved by adding new functions FC Marker (Focus Marker) and FC Ease (Focus Ease) to DFF (Digital Follow Focus), an exclusive feature of TAMRON Lens Utility Mobile that provides practical and simple support for focus work techniques that are essential in video production.
The compatible OS for smartphones/tablets is Android 6 to 14. The software version has been updated from the currently released Ver. 3.0 to Ver. 4.0.
TAMRON Lens Utility Mobile Version 4.0
TAMRON Lens Utility Mobile Ver.3.0 added the DFF function to easily reproduce the follow focus function, which is essential for focus work in video production, on the screen of a smartphone or tablet. Now, with TAMRON Lens Utility Mobile Ver.4.0, new functions FC Marker and FC Ease have been added to the DFF function to make focus work even more enjoyable.
It has become easier to create special effects using focusing, and you can incorporate the movement you intend into the focusing.
Ver.4.0 DFF additional features
FC marker (Focus marker)
By setting a marker on the focus ring on the DFF screen, you can move the focus to any marker. You can move the focus to the marker by moving your finger on the screen or automatically.
When automatically moving the focus between markers, the photographer can set the desired time, enabling precise focus work as intended.
FC Ease (Focus Ease)
When using the marker function, this function brings about a speed-up/down effect on focusing. By setting the ease, you can make the automatic focus movement faster and slower at the start and end. The effect of the speed-up/down effect differs depending on the value.
