Adobe announced the company just published the Premiere Pro update “25.3,” the June 2025 update. The 25.3 release brings advanced filtering in the Search panel, label colors in the Sequence tab, and more.
Premiere Pro June 2025 Update Notes
Advanced filtering in the Search panel
Search for the perfect shot using advanced filtering to quickly find specific clips or assets in large projects.
In the Advanced Filtering panel, select “Create new filter” and add metadata-based rules (e.g. file type, frame rate, status, audio/video, label color) to stack up to eight different filters to combine search criteria.
The UI displays a filter window that opens advanced filtering options in the search window.

Sequence Tab Label Color
Sequence label colors allow users to visually distinguish between different sequences in a project. This feature helps users quickly identify and manage multiple sequences, especially in complex projects.
Each sequence tab in Adobe Premiere Pro displays a different color label.

Improved handling of data range and color metadata for DNxHR, DNxHD and PNG
Automatic Data Range Detection
Premiere Pro now automatically detects and applies the correct data range (Narrow/Legal/Video or Full/Extended) when importing DNxHR/DNxHD (MXF format) and PNG files based on embedded metadata. This feature is bit-depth independent.
Preserving Super Whites and Sub Blacks
When reading narrow, legal or video range files, the color pipeline preserves super-white and sub-black data that is present for out-of-bounds signal values.
Improved support for color metadata
PNG stills containing CICP tagged metadata are now correctly converted and managed within Premiere Pro’s color management system.
Export enhancements
- Export color space selection: For DNxHR, DNxHD and PNG exports, you can now manually select the color space under Export Settings/Video/Advanced.
- PNG Metadata: Optionally enable Include display mastering and color light level metadata under Export Settings/Video/Advanced to embed display color volume mastering and content light levels during PNG export.
Issues fixed in the Premiere Pro June 2025
The following has been fixed in update 25.3:
AI and Generative Augmentation
- Content Credentials were not displayed in the media file properties dialog for generated extended clips.
- Content Credentials icon was not displayed for Generate Extended clips in Freeform view.
Audio
- The presence of an audio stream with incorrect sample sizes in early audio packets can cause the audio and video to become out of sync during playback.
- A disk error event could occur during audio optimization.
Captions and Transcriptions
- Auto-transcription of clips longer than an hour could fail.
Color
- Dragging In/Out markers in the Source Monitor ignored the Input LUT.
Edit
- Adding a new composite clip item did not add the item to the project if the Project panel did not have focus.
Export
- I was able to export a 23.98 sequence as 23.00.
- Media Encoder could crash after parallel encoding.
Effect
- Changing Interpolation using shortcuts sometimes failed after clicking a parameter in the Effect Controls panel to select a keyframe.
- Fixed a crash caused by using some third-party effects.
- Customized parameters for third-party transitions are lost if the project is saved on a computer with the plug-in not installed or disabled.
Format
- When using RED R3D media, the LUT selected on camera was not being applied correctly to the media while recording. A crash could occur when selecting a LUT in the Source Settings panel.
- When loading bad Canon Cinema RAW files, playback and read errors occurred with other known good Cinema RAW files. Restarting the application was the only solution to restore import and playback operations.
Import
- Footage could remain in a media pending state even after a project was opened and the media was relinked.
Marker
- The “Add Marker” command in some custom keyboard presets acts as a double press, opening the Edit Marker dialog.
Search
- Find panel results were incorrect when using Replace Footage on a clip.
- Media with altered pixel aspect ratios did not show correct thumbnails in the Search panel while hovering scrubbing.
