Sonnet Technologies has introduced the newest addition to its extensive USB adapter card series, the cost-effective Allegro 7-Port USB 3.2 Gen1 Type A PCIe Card, priced at $49.99.
The Allegro card adds seven USB-A 5Gbps ports to a desktop tower computer in a single PCIe card slot, allowing users to simultaneously connect seven USB devices to their computer.
Functionality
The Allegro 7-Port USB 3.2 Gen1 Type A PCIe Card is a full-height PCIe card for desktop computers. The card connects six external USB-A peripherals and one internal device. It includes SATA and PCIe power connectors for connecting auxiliary power if a device connected to the card requires more than 25 watts of power. The Allegro card installs into an available full-height PCIe card slot and functions using drivers built into the operating system software.
Many modern desktop tower computers come with only a limited number of USB-A ports, and some manufacturers still offer USB 2.0 ports that can only be used to connect mice, keyboards, and devices with very limited bandwidth requirements.
Additionally, these computers may only have a limited number of USB-A ports on the back of the computer, which can be a hassle for users who need to simultaneously connect a large number of USB peripherals such as pro audio interfaces, control pads, microphones, MIDI controllers, mixers, etc.
The Allegro 7-port USB3.2 Gen1 Type A PCIe card provides users with ample additional USB-A 5Gbps connectivity while using only one card slot in their computer, allowing them to connect more peripherals simultaneously.
