Ginichi Co., Ltd. will release the updated “Video Mic Go II Helix” on Friday, December 6, 2024, revising the shock mount shape of the on-camera microphone “Video Mic Go II” currently on sale from RØDE Microphones (hereinafter referred to as RØDE), which the company handles. The suggested retail price is 19,800 yen including tax.
The VideoMic Go II Helix is a versatile and extremely lightweight on-camera shotgun microphone. It features the new HELIX isolation mount developed by RØDE, which holds the microphone body stably while efficiently cutting out noise from the camera and installation location. It is smaller and lighter than the previous shock mount, making it easier to handle.
In addition to analog output via a 3.5mm TRS terminal for on-camera use, digital output is also possible via a USB-C terminal. It can also be used as a USB microphone by connecting it to a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet or a PC.
When connected to the USB-C terminal, you can use various RØDE apps to control recording and change settings such as input gain, pad and high pass filter.
In addition, in windy environments, you can use the separately sold windshield WS12 to reduce wind noise, and the HF boost can also reduce muffled sound when worn.
When using the USB-C output, you can monitor microphone audio (which can be switched on/off in the app) and listen to the audio output from the connected device via the 3.5mm TRS connector.
This product does not come with a USB-C output cable. You will need to purchase a cable that matches the device you are connecting to, such as SC15 (USB-C to Lightning), SC16 (USB-C to USB-C), or SC18 (USB-C to USB-A).
Product Features
It uses ROAD’s uniquely designed revolutionary mount, the HELIX Isolation Mount. It is thin and lightweight, yet stabilizes the body and effectively reduces shock, vibration, and handling noise from the camera.
It is highly versatile and can be used with cameras, PCs, and smartphones. It supports not only analog output via a 3.5mm TRS terminal, but also digital output via a USB-C terminal, so it can also be used as a USB microphone.
When connected to the USB-C terminal, you can use the app provided by RØDE to set a variety of functions such as input gain, pad, high-pass filter and high boost to suit your recording environment and sound source.
When using the digital output via the USB-C terminal, direct monitoring can be enabled to monitor with headphones via the 3.5mm TRS terminal, making it useful for web meetings, etc.
