Shure will begin taking preorders for the MV7i Smart Microphone & Interface on Friday, February 28, 2025, and will release the product on Wednesday, March 5. The suggested retail price is open.
The MV7i Smart Microphone & Interface is a USB-C dynamic microphone with a built-in audio interface that uses patented proprietary technology. It will set a new standard in flexibility and ease of use, meeting the needs of podcasters, home musicians, and other creators who need to record two channels.
The built-in interface allows you to connect your favorite microphone, keyboard, guitar, or other instrument directly to the combo jack (XLR and 6.3mm phone) without the need for an external audio interface.
The MV7i also connects to a computer, tablet or smartphone via USB-C for easy two-channel audio recording with the intuitive MOTIV Mix desktop app or MOTIV mobile app. Advanced digital signal processing (DSP) including Voice Isolation technology, Auto Level mode with SmartGate, real-time denoiser, Digital Popper Stopper and adjustable reverb delivers broadcast-quality sound on both channels. Creators can independently adjust DSP settings for each of the MV7i’s two channels.
The MV7i provides 60dB of gain and 48V of phantom power for a second microphone or instrument. It supports both dynamic and condenser microphones and instantly detects the input type, so it automatically selects and applies the appropriate DSP for the recording application.
It’s also compatible with a wide range of Mac and Windows devices with USB Type-C connectors, and is MFi certified for iPhone and iPad. The customizable color LED touch panel provides intuitive mute controls and dual channel displays for easy adjustments while recording or streaming. Plus, it’s compatible with your favorite digital audio workstations and streaming platforms.
“Whether it’s recording a podcast with a guest or recording vocals and instruments at home, creators need technology that simplifies their workflow and lets them capture audio seamlessly,” said Valdes .
The MV7i maintains the outstanding audio quality of the MV7+ while simplifying the creative process by eliminating additional costs and complex setups, allowing creators to focus on their craft and leave the technical aspects to their equipment.
Combining Shure’s renowned microphone sound quality with a built-in interface, we’ve eliminated complexity while maintaining professional standards, all in one elegant solution.
Shure MV7i Features
Auto-Level Mode with SmartGate Technology
Auto Level mode automatically adjusts microphone gain based on microphone distance, voice volume and room acoustics, while SmartGate, enabled by default, seamlessly reduces the volume of silent channels to eliminate crosstalk and ensure clear, uninterrupted two-channel recording.
Built-in Audio Interface
The microphone features a combo jack (XLR and 6.3mm phone) input. It functions as an audio interface, allowing you to connect additional microphones (via XLR) or instruments (via 6.3mm). It provides +60dB of gain and 48V phantom power to support most dynamic and condenser XLR microphones. Experience 24-bit, up to 48kHz digital audio output with onboard DSP for any XLR input.
Connect to PCs, tablets and smartphones via USB-C
It is compatible with desktops and laptops running Mac and Windows OS, as well as some Apple and Android mobile devices with USB-C connectors. It is MFi certified for iPhone and iPad, so it integrates seamlessly with a wide range of devices and delivers high performance.
Advanced DSP for both microphones and inputs
The Shure MV7i comes equipped with advanced DSP functions. These functions are appliableto both the unit itself and connected XLR microphones. This allows creation of broadcast-quality audio content with minimal post-production.
The real-time Denoiser effectively eliminates environmental noise, the Digital Popper Stopper removes harsh plosives, and the adjustable reverb setting offers three settings (Plate, Hall, Studio) to add depth and richness to your vocal and instrument recordings.
Multi-color LED touch panel/live meter
The 36-bit color adjustable LED panel can be customized to show live meter, pulse, or solid mode using the MOTIV Mix desktop app, and can also be set to show the status of microphones and input channels in SPLIT or COMBINED mode.
Full touch mute panel
Each channel can be instantly muted with the touch of a LED panel that indicates the mute status in red. This allows customers to silently and efficiently mute any microphone or input channel, giving them complete control over their audio settings without interrupting their workflow.
Zero Latency Monitoring and Playback
The built in 3.5mm headphone jack allows for zero-lag monitoring of mic and input audio, letting you hear exactly what’s being recorded in real time, allowing for precise adjustments for a seamless recording or streaming experience.
Flexible Recording Output Modes
You can select your preferred audio output mode within the MOTIV app.
- Mixdown Mode (default): Combines the audio from the microphone and mono inputs into one mono audio output.
- Multitrack Mode: Produces two independent mono audio tracks, perfect for podcasts or dual vocal/instrument recordings.
- Stereo Mode: Combines microphone and input stereo audio into one stereo track, perfect for voiceovers, narration with a stereo background.
Works with MOTIV Mix and MOTIV Mobile Apps
Using the MOTIV Mix desktop app or MOTIV mobile app, users can fully configure DSP functions and tune the sound signature of the microphone and inputs. The MOTIV app also supports future firmware updates that will expand the MV7i’s features and capabilities.
