VENUS OPTICS brand LAOWA announced two new products, the “LAOWA 55mm F2.8 Tilt-Shift 1x Macro” and “LAOWA 100mm F2.8 Tilt-Shift 1x Macro.” Orders have begun from February 14, 2025. The LAOWA 55mm/100mm F2.8 Tilt-Shift lenses are tilt-shift macro lenses designed for mirrorless cameras equipped with full-frame sensors. They combines tilt-shift functionality that allows you to control the focal plane and perspective distortion, with a life-size macro function that captures the finest details of the subject, making it useful in a variety of fields such as product photography, architecture, and landscape photography.
These lenses have a large image circle and is also available with mounts for some medium format mirrorless cameras (though there are limitations to the shift range when used with medium format cameras).
Equipped with precise tilt (±10°) and shift (±12mm) mechanisms
These lenses come equipped with a professional-grade, precise, and authentic ±10° tilt mechanism and ±12mm shift mechanism, allowing you to freely control perspective distortion and focus plane.
*For medium format cameras (GFX mount), tilt is limited to ±10° and shift to ±8mm.
Tilt
By adjusting the focal plane with the tilt function, you can bring a specific plane into focus while maintaining a shallow depth of field.
For products with reflective surfaces (such as jewelry), you can use tilt-shift lenses to minimize unwanted reflections. The tilt function is especially useful for product photography.
In addition, the tilt function can be used for creative effects such as miniature effects and selective focus positioning.
Shift
With a maximum shift of ±12mm on full-frame cameras, you can precisely control perspective and easily correct distortions in vertical lines, making it ideal for architectural photography.
When taking panoramic photos, using the shift function makes stitching easy and produces natural-looking photos without any bulging in the middle.

Rotation mechanism that allows correction direction to be changed
Two different rotation mechanisms allow the correction direction to be freely set, making it easier to adjust the composition.
There is a 90° rotation mechanism for changing the tilt direction, and a rotation mechanism with 15° clicks for changing the shift direction.
Other features
Tilt-shift lenses captures the subject at life-size on the camera’s image sensor, allowing you to take close-up shots of the finest details. These two lenses can focus up to 27-33cm from the subject, making it possible to take close-up shots.
These lenses come with an aperture of F2.8, allowing you to take high-quality photos even in low light conditions.

The 55mm model has a lens configuration of 14 elements in 11 groups, while the 100mm model has a lens configuration of 13 elements in 10 groups, which ensures excellent image quality with minimal peripheral light falloff and accurate, clear depiction of even the finest details.
Both feature a versatile 77mm filter thread, allowing you to easily attach screw-in filters without the need for a separate filter holder.
A lens support is included and the camera can be easily attached to a tripod using the Arca-Swiss standard system.
