LAOWA began accepting orders for its newly-announced 8-15mm T2.9 FF Zoom Fisheye Cine Lens. Release date depends on country; LAOWA will have details on their end when the lens is available.
This lens is an 8-15mm zoom lens optimized for full-frame cinema cameras. It is suitable for professional use, with a bright T2.9, a dynamic and immersive field of view unique to fisheyes, and a robust body with LAOWA’s unique Frog Eye Coating (water-repellent and dirt-resistant coating). It is said to be a lens that will expand the expressive power of video production in a wide range of applications, including music videos, action scenes, VR content, and dramas.
Two types of fisheye effects in one
Fisheye lenses are often seen as special lenses used for unusual effects, but they are an important method of image expression that has produced many famous scenes in film history. When used on the 8mm setting, this lens acts as a circular fisheye lens with a 180° angle of view, providing ideal images for VR content, 360° panoramic shooting, and fantastical effects.
On the other hand, at 15mm, it becomes a diagonal fisheye lens that covers the entire sensor, providing a more practical and dynamic angle of view. This is an extremely flexible lens that can be used for two different types of depiction.

Large aperture of T2.9 across the entire zoom range
The lens maintains a maximum aperture of T2.9 throughout the entire zoom range from 8mm to 15mm. It delivers clear, high-quality images even in low-light locations, nighttime photography, and astronomical time-lapse photography. By taking advantage of the shallow depth of field, it also supports impressive effects that make the subject stand out.

Versatile 8-15mm zoom range
Equipped with a zoom function that allows you to finely adjust the fisheye effect for each scene. The 75° zoom rotation angle allows for smooth adjustment of the angle of view. It eliminates the hassle of changing lenses and achieves both mobility and creativity on the shooting site.
Close-up shooting at a minimum focal length of 16cm
The minimum shooting distance is 16cm, and the maximum shooting magnification is 0.23x. Even when shooting from a close distance, you can capture a wide range of the background, allowing you to create impressive images that emphasize the presence of the subject.

Covers full frame sensors
This lens uses an optical design optimized for full-frame sensors, achieving sharp images all the way to the edges of the screen across the entire zoom range. It is said to maximize its performance even in professional applications that require high-definition images, such as VR content production, high-resolution cinema shooting, and panoramic video recording.
Ultra-compact and lightweight design
With a total length of just 62.5mm, a diameter of 84.8mm, and a weight of approximately 590g (excluding the front and rear caps), this lens is extremely lightweight and compact for a full-frame cine zoom lens. It is also suitable for use with gimbals, drones, and handheld rigs, and is highly mobile even in active shooting situations such as run-and-gun shooting and on-location documentary shooting.

Professional Cine Housing
It features a robust metal housing and LAOWA’s unique Frog Eye Coating (water-repellent and dirt-resistant coating). It maintains stable performance even in harsh field environments. The focus, zoom, and aperture rings are compatible with 0.8MOD gears, allowing for smooth cooperation with follow focus. It comes standard with a PL mount, but can also be converted to E, RF, Z, L, and X mounts with an optional interchangeable bayonet. It can flexibly support a wide range of professional cameras.
*Please note that with the Fujifilm X-mount, the angle of view is narrower due to the sensor size.
