RØDE announced the new HDMI to USB-CHDMI – USB-C Converter cable connector. This new product will be due out on August 19, 2025. The estimated price is approximately $30.
This compact adapter converts the HDMI output of a camera into a USB-C port on a PC or UVC (USB Video Class) compatible device. It supports video capture at up to 1080p/60fps, allowing mirrorless cameras and other devices to be used as high-quality webcams.
This makes it possible to use higher quality video than a PC’s built-in camera in online meetings, live streaming, content production, etc. It is also optimized for use with the company’s “Roadcaster Video,” which is said to improve video quality in live streaming and recording.
This product only supports video input from the HDMI terminal and does not support input from the USB-C terminal.
