ZERO ZERO ROBOTICS announced the HOVERAir AQUA, HOVERAir’s first 100% waterproof selfie flying camera designed for water activities, and launched it on Indiegogo.
The HOVERAir AQUA is designed for water activities. Developed for creators, athletes, and those seeking new experiences, the AQUA enables hands-free, pilot-free aerial photography.
Easily capture beautiful third-person footage for any activity, including stand-up paddling, kayaking, wakeboarding, jet skiing, fishing, boating, and more.
HOVERAir AQUA Films Watersports Hands-Free
The HOVERAir AQUA replaces static POV and manually operated drones with its AI-powered auto-tracking, waterproof design, and compact portability, allowing hands-free filming on the water. Building on the acclaimed technology and experience of the X1 series and X1 PRO/PROMAX, the HOVERAir expands its reach beyond hiking, running, skiing, and cycling to the world of water sports.
The AQUA features faster flight speeds, longer flight times, real-time video, IP-67 waterproofing, and neutral buoyancy. It automatically tracks the water surface, delivering smooth, dynamic footage from new angles, making it the perfect flying camera for anyone who enjoys water sports.
The HOVERAir AQUA delivers stunning video quality with a 4K/100fps slow-motion camera, a 1/1.28-inch CMOS sensor, and a splash-proof and water-resistant lens. It boasts over 15 automatic flight modes, including snorkel mode and mount mode, and is wind-resistant up to Level 7 (up to 33 knots [approximately 17 m/s]). It weighs less than 249 g and does not require FAA registration.* Its maximum flight time is 23 minutes, and its tracking speed reaches a maximum of 55 km/h (34 mph [approximately 88.5 km/h]).
*The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) requires drones weighing over 250g to be registered, but the AQUA does not require registration because it weighs less than 249g. In Japan, however, unmanned aerial vehicles weighing over 100g are required to be registered, and the AQUA is subject to registration.
The HOVERAir AQUA also introduces a new accessory, the Lighthouse. Worn on the user’s wrist, it controls all of AQUA’s functions, including takeoff, landing, recording, mode selection, and remote recall. The Virtual Tether function automatically prompts AQUA to return when it exceeds a set distance. Furthermore, the 1.6-inch (approximately 4cm) AMOLED display allows live preview in snorkel mode and mount mode, and allows for video monitoring without connecting a mobile device.
AQUA is a cutting-edge personal AI flying camera developed with use on or near water in mind.
“AQUA further expands the mission of HOVERAir, allowing users to capture their best moments hands-free and freely, not only on land but also on water,” MQ Wang, founder and CEO of Zero Zero Robotics, commented.
“With hands-free tracking, stable flight, and easy lighthouse operation, AQUA is perfect for any water activity. You can get a first-hand experience of the drone on the Indiegogo campaign page.”
HOVERAir AQUA can also be experienced at IFA Berlin (September 3rd-9th, 2025).
