Nikon announced a new color release for the Nikon Zf, the silver version. The Zf full-frame/FX-format mirrorless camera originally was released in October 2023. This silver option is due out on Friday, September 26, 2025. Pre-orders will begin at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 10.
The Zf is a mirrorless camera that combines a heritage design inspired by Nikon’s historic cameras with the outstanding performance of a full-frame camera. Since its release, it has been well received by many users, and there have also been many requests for a silver color.
In response to customer feedback, a new color, “Zf Silver,” will be released. Additionally, two new colors will be available for the “Premium Exterior,” which allows customers to replace the artificial leather bodywork for an additional fee, allowing them to customize the exterior to their liking.
Furthermore, it will also support a “film grain” function that adds graininess to still images and videos. This will further expand the range of expression of the “Z f” and, combined with the rich visual expression that only a full-frame camera can provide, will support creators in creating works that are unique to them.
Nikon will continue to pursue new dimensions in optical performance, meet user needs, and contribute to the development of imaging culture, aiming to further expand the possibilities of imaging expression.

Nikon Zf Silver Key Features
New silver color with a chrome-plated finish motif
The silver finish is inspired by the chrome-plated finish seen on film-era cameras such as the Nikon F, and has a metallic texture, achieving an authentic feel befitting a full-size model in the Heritage Line.
The “Premium Exterior” option, which allows you to replace the artificial leather on the body for an additional fee, will be available in two new colors, “Teal Blue” and “Mauve Pink,” which are elegant and subdued tones that match the silver body. This allows you to customize the exterior to your liking more than ever before.

Future Firmware Update – “Film Grain” function for film-like effects
A future firmware update (scheduled to be available within 2025) will add support for the “Film Grain” function, which adds graininess to still images and videos. By adjusting the grain size in three stages and the grain strength in six stages when shooting, a variety of expressions can be created to suit the scene and intention.
By combining it with “imaging recipes” and “picture controls,” which are image creation presets created by Nikon and creators that can be downloaded and used, it is possible to enjoy film-like expressions that make the most of one’s individuality.
