Canon will release a new “CINE-SERVO Lens” (*1) cinema lens, the CINE-SERVO 11-55mm. Product numbers are the “CN5x11 IAS T/R1” (RF mount) and the “CN5x11 IAS T/P1” (PL mount). The lens is due to be released in late November 2025. Additionally, the suggested retail price for both lenses is TBD.

What is the Canon CINE-SERVO 11-55mm?
The Canon CINE-SERVO 11-55mm CN5x11 IAS T/R1 uses an RF mount to support communication with digital cinema cameras, while the CN5x11 IAS T/P1 uses a PL mount, which is widely used in the film industry. Equipped with the “e-Xs V” drive unit, it achieves ultra-wide-angle shooting with a focal length of 11mm, the widest in the CINE-SERVO lens series, and is also the lightest in the series (*2). It not only enables close-up shooting of subjects with a wide angle of view, but also supports impressive image expression with a shallow depth of field, even in locations where mobility is required, meeting the diverse needs of filmmaking, from live shooting to film production.
Expanding the wide-angle range of the CINE-SERVO lens series with an ultra-wide 11mm focal length
Taking advantage of the 11mm focal length, the widest in the CINE-SERVO lens series, the lens enables cinematic image expression with a wide angle and shallow depth of field even in shooting locations where camera positioning is limited, such as sports and concert coverage, where wide-angle broadcast lenses have traditionally been used. In addition to being compatible with Super 35mm sensors, it is also compatible with 35mm full-frame sensors when using the built-in 1.5x extender, supporting use with cameras equipped with large sensors. The entire CINE-SERVO lens series covers focal lengths from 11mm to 1500mm, meeting the needs of a wide range of applications.
High optical performance and rich image expression compatible with 8K cameras
Bringing together Canon’s optical technology, the lens offers optical performance compatible with 8K cameras across the entire zoom range, from the center to the periphery. It also boasts a warm color balance that more beautifully reproduces skin tones, and a soft bokeh created by an odd-numbered aperture, resulting in impressive image expression. Furthermore, the CN5x11 IAS T/R1 is compatible with the Canon Virtual Production System via RF mount communication, helping to reduce workload not only on set but also during post-production.
The lightest CINE-SERVO lens in the series, offering excellent mobility and operability
With the lightest weight in the CINE-SERVO lens series and a design that takes into consideration the center of gravity balance, it demonstrates high mobility even when incorporated into systems such as cranes and wire cams. In addition, combined with its ergonomic design, it supports long-term shooting while carried on the shoulder. Furthermore, it uses the detachable drive unit e-Xs V, which offers excellent operability and functionality. It can be used comfortably in both broadcast style with servo operation by attaching the drive unit, and cinema style with full manual operation by removing the drive unit.
PRODUCT NOTES:
