What is the LAB series?
The LAB series is the Viltrox brand’s highest-end line, characterized by high image quality and high standards. Compared to other products on the market, the LAB series lens specifications are at a higher level than the PRO series. With the release of the Viltrox AF 35mm F1.2, the Viltrox LAB series is gaining attention as a lens that will further expand the creative possibilities of professional photographers and filmmakers.
Viltrox AF 35mm F1.2 LAB Z Features
This new lens consists of 15 elements in 10 groups, including five ED lenses, three high-refractive-index lenses, and two aspherical lenses, ensuring clarity from the center to the edges across the entire focal range and enabling the depiction of fine textures even at maximum aperture, thereby preserving image quality down to the finest details even in cropped images and expanding the range of photography available to users.
Equipped with Viltrox’s proprietary Hyper VCM motor, it achieves 150% faster focus speed and more accurate aperture precision compared to conventional STM motors, allowing you to accurately capture photographic opportunities.
The large F1.2 aperture and 11-blade diaphragm produce clearer, softer, and more circular bokeh, ensuring excellent quality even in low-light situations. With a minimum focusing distance of 0.34m and a maximum magnification of 0.17x, the lens delivers clear, superior images from infinity to close-ups.
The side of the lens is equipped with two switching levers, two custom Fn buttons, two rings, and a display, allowing for fine adjustments to suit the user’s shooting style. The lens body, including the front lens element, is dust-proof and splash-proof, making it usable in a wide range of shooting environments.
You can connect to the app via Bluetooth and set the Fn button as well as the image and text to be displayed on the lens display when the camera is turned on.
