Leica Camera AG (hereafter referred to as Leica) today announced two new firmware updates for current camera models in the Leica SL system and the Leica Q3 series. Both firmware updates can be installed via the Leica FOTOS app or via an SD memory card.
These firmware updates significantly improve performance in key areas of each camera, enabling a more precise, faster and more intuitive shooting experience for both photos and videos. Firmware 4.0.0 for the Leica SL System significantly enhances the performance of the Leica SL3 and Leica SL3-S, bringing a number of important benefits.
The hybrid autofocus responds even faster and significantly improves the accuracy of people and animals recognition. The overall system speed has been optimized, and the Leica SL3 now offers a new Multi-Shot mode, enabling capture of up to 240 megapixels. Additionally, the Leica SL3 and Leica SL3-S now offer direct connectivity to Adobe Frame.io, enabling seamless professional workflows.
The Leica Q3 series cameras also benefit greatly from firmware 4.0.0. The user interface has been completely redesigned, inspired by the acclaimed interface of the Leica SL3. The new user interface features redesigned icons, an optimized structure, faster navigation, and improved touch usability.
In addition, when combined with autofocus and configurable Leica Looks, it delivers a more personal and intuitive shooting experience than ever before.
