Cosina Corporation released the new Voigtländer brand product, the APO-LANTHAR 28mm F2 Aspherical Z-mount, a Nikon Z-mount interchangeable lens. This product is Voigtländer’s highest performance wide-angle lens to date, and is an extremely high-performance interchangeable lens compatible with full-frame (Nikon FX format) sensors, optimized for Nikon Z mount sensors.
Voigtländer APO-LANTHAR 28mm F2 Overview
The lens employs an apochromatic design that minimizes axial chromatic aberration of the three primary colors of light, RGB, while pursuing ultimate performance in terms of resolution and contrast reproduction. The lens is comprised of 12 elements in 8 groups, including six anomalous partial dispersion glass elements and two double-sided aspherical lenses, and also incorporates a floating mechanism. It boasts flawless rendering capabilities from a minimum focusing distance of 0.28m to long distances, boasting performance that will completely change the perception of a large-aperture wide-angle lens with a 28mm f/2 aperture.

The APO-LANTHAR 28mm F2 Aspherical Z-mount aims to achieve both ultimate optical performance and compactness, and is one of its ideal forms, achieving a compact size of just 60.0mm in total length from the mount. The 12 nearly circular aperture blades also faithfully depict bokeh of point light sources.

Furthermore, the camera is equipped with electronic contacts, and by combining a body that is compatible with telecommunications with the latest firmware, it supports three types of focusing support functions: focusing by changing the focus point frame color, peaking function, and focusing by using the magnification button, in addition to Exif information and in-body image stabilization (3-axis).
The aperture ring has 1/3-stop clicks, and it comes with a reverse-mountable metal circular bayonet-type hood, which is designed to be compact when stored.
