Aputure announced two new NOVA panel fixtures and a NOVA 3-panel light array, along with new modifiers and accessories for the NOVA ecosystem.
The NOVA 9° 2×1 is a powerful, ultra-narrow beam panel ideal for focused lighting at long distances. The NOVA II 1×1 is a portable panel that is more powerful than most 2×1 units, both direct and diffuse.

What’s new with these new Aputure NOVA Lights?
Now, the NOVA II 1×1 has higher output than most 2×1 panels while offering the same color performance in a more portable form factor. And the NOVA 9° 2×1 is an entirely new concept, with an ultra-narrow beam powerful enough to replicate direct sunlight even at long throw distances. Stack three of these on the new 3-light yoke for outdoor use in sunlight while running on a single household power source.
The NOVA 9° 2×1 3-Light Kit is an ultra-narrow beam panel array using three NOVA 9° 2×1 panels on a single yoke, designed to project bright, directional, tunable white light over long distances with a pleasing shadow quality that replicates natural sunlight.
With a shallower footprint and greater output than a 12,000W tungsten lamp at full spot at 10 meters (21,070 lux vs. 17,400 lux), the NOVA 9° 2×1 3-Light Kit is ideal for use with reflectors, through windows, or anywhere a sunlight beam is needed. The NOVA 2×1 3-Light Yoke can also be used with the NOVA II 2×1 light.
BLAIR engine
The new Extended BLAIR Light Engine offers an extended CCT (Color Temperature) range of 1,800-20,000K with +/- Green adjustment for the full ASC MITC range. The Extended BLAIR Engine’s Indigo emitter enhances the color of naturally fluorescing materials, similar to sunlight, while the Extended Red emitter enriches skin tones.
The NOVA 9° 2×1 is also available as a separate ultra-narrow beam panel and uses the same accessories as the NOVA II 2×1. At a distance of 5 meters, the NOVA 9° 2×1 is twice as bright as a 5,000W tungsten Fresnel at full spot (28,090 lux vs. 14,920 lux).
The NOVA II 1×1 is the latest addition to the NOVA II family, bringing the breakthrough color gamut and light fidelity of the BLAIR-CG light engine to the popular 1×1 panel format. The fixture outputs tunable white light from 1,800 to 20,000K CCT and tunable color light covering over 90% of the Rec. 2020 spectrum, delivering best-in-class brightness in both direct and diffused illumination.
The NOVA II 1×1’s specially tuned BLAIR-CG light engine features multiple blue and red emitters, including an extended red for improved color rendition and skin tones. Thanks to its unique “Focus Then Blend” optical design, the NOVA II 1×1 delivers a 35° direct beam that maintains brightness even when diffused, enhancing versatility without introducing any visible color bleeding into the subject.
NOVA Accessories
All NOVA II and NOVA 9° luminaires share an advanced structural design that enables them to achieve three normally conflicting goals: low noise, light weight, and IP65 weather resistance.
The NOVA 9° 2×1 and NOVA II 1×1 launch alongside new additions to the NOVA accessory ecosystem. The 1×1 versions of NOVA accessories are compatible with their respective 2×1 counterparts and share features such as the front-loading QuickClip system for easy installation and stacking.
The NOVA 9° 2×1 is compatible with all accessories already available for the NOVA II 2×1. The softbox and fabric control grid were designed and manufactured in collaboration with DoPchoice.

- NOVA 1×1 Dome Diffuser: A QuickClip omnidirectional modifier designed to produce a more diffused light than the flat diffuser included with the NOVA II 2×1. The Dome Diffuser is available in either Heavy Frost or Light Frost.
