Lomography added the 27mm and 135mm to its Joseph Petzval Art Lens series, bringing the total to five focal lengths, covering everything from wide-angle to telephoto.
The Joseph Petzval Focus-coupled Bokeh Control Art Lens is compatible with full-frame mirrorless cameras from Sony E, Canon RF, and Nikon Z, enabling a wide range of creative expression with its swirling bokeh.
Main Features
- The first-ever angle of view and image quality in a Petzval lens
- A lens that combines the old and the new
- Focus-linked blur control technology optimized for video production
JOSEPH PETZVAL 27 MM f/1.7

This newly-announced lens, the widest in the Petzval series, achieves extremely strong separation that makes the subject stand out, and with a minimum focusing distance of 0.3m, it produces powerful, distinctive Petzval images. The shallow depth of field creates a large-format-like effect, making it a versatile lens that can be used for a wide range of scenes, from close-ups to expansive scenes.
The unique curvature of field allows for compositional expression similar to that of a tilt-shift lens, and two distant subjects can be brought into focus at the same time, allowing for unique expression.

The bright f/1.7 aperture and slightly curved optical design dynamically capture moving scenes, while the slight distortion added to the composition adds a sense of movement to the entire image. This compact and lightweight lens is an ideal choice for travel, street photography, and those who enjoy shooting in limited spaces.
JOSEPH PETZVAL 135 MM f/2.5

With a focal length of 135mm, the longest ever produced, it delivers beautiful, compressed images, smooth bokeh, blurred highlights, slight aberrations, and a soft, nostalgic look created by the swirling bokeh, reminiscent of classic Hollywood films.
The slight curvature of field ensures a wider focus area across the entire frame, rather than limiting the subject to the center. The tight angle of view creates a three-dimensional effect where the foreground, middle ground, and background overlap, creating a sense of depth and distance between the subject and the camera. In addition, Petzval’s signature swirling bokeh blends with the more natural foreground, enabling expressions that cannot be reproduced with ordinary lenses.

Furthermore, the bright f/2.5 aperture makes it useful in a wide range of scenes, from dark scenes to photographing fast-moving subjects.

Lomography Joseph Petzval Art Series Lineup

Focus-linked blur control technology
Newly developed focus-linked bokeh control technology allows you to control the swirling bokeh without worrying about focus shift. It allows for a smooth transition from sharp, crisp images to dramatic, swirling bokeh. All lenses feature a 180° focus throw and are follow focus compatible.
Furthermore, the gear position is consistent across all focal lengths, making it easy to use for filmmaking. It also features a 1/4-inch lens support for increased stability, allowing it to be safely mounted on a gimbal or tripod, whether shooting handheld or on a tripod. The intuitive, clickless control ring makes this a highly practical lens that can be smoothly incorporated into any workflow.
For unique visual expression
Having all five focal lengths available will further deepen your expressive power in video production. You can create contrasting perspectives and manipulate the way space is perceived to change the atmosphere of a scene, greatly expanding the scope of your directing. Each lens has different strengths that enhance the finished product. In addition, impressive expressions can be created without the need for editing, which also helps reduce production time and costs.
