A versatile wide-angle lens with high portability
With a total length of 64.8mm and a weight of just 220g , this palm-sized lens packs a large F1.4 aperture and a focal length equivalent to 22.5mm in 35mm format (24mm equivalent for Canon RF mount). It’s perfect for everyday snapshots, portraits, and travel landscapes, as well as for professional use in cinematic video production, live commerce, webinars, and more. Its portability and imaging performance enable high-quality expression in any situation.
*220g is the value for Sony E-mount
Large weight reduction of approximately 50% compared to conventional models
This focal length is frequently used in daily life. As such, Sigma pursued a compact, lightweight design without compromise. Through arranging FLD glass elements, three SLD glass elements, and three double-sided aspherical lenses, the company achieved a length that is approximately 30% shorter and a weight that is approximately 50% lighter than the previous model, the Sigma 16mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary. This makes it the lightest lens in the Sigma F1.4 DC series, accelerating the freedom of expression that takes advantage of the mobility of an APS-C camera.

Uncompromising sharpness to every corner
Pursuing even higher optical performance
The Sigma 15mm F1.4 DC | Contemporary came about with the goal of surpassing the highly acclaimed optical performance of its predecessor, the Sigma 16mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary. Particular attention has been paid to improving performance at the edges of the frame, thoroughly suppressing sagittal coma flare, which is easily noticeable with large-aperture wide-angle lenses. It achieves high image quality from wide open aperture across the entire frame, delivering uncompromising sharpness in everything from everyday snapshots to starry sky photography.
Large F1.4 aperture for rich expression
It demonstrates high optical performance even at full aperture, allowing you to actively enjoy the image quality only possible with an F1.4 aperture. Not only is it ideal for shooting in dimly lit indoor spaces or night street photography, but the nine aperture blades also create beautiful circular bokeh that brings out the subject, bringing a three-dimensional feel to both still images and videos.

Designed to reduce flare and ghosting
To address image quality degradation caused by flare and ghosting, measures have been taken to deal with all types of incident light using cutting-edge simulation technology. High resistance to backlighting ensures clear, sharp images in any lighting conditions.
Excellent operability
Ideal for high-quality video production
The highly portable and powerful Sigma 15mm F1.4 DC | Contemporary lens enables high-quality imaging in any scene. The shallow depth of field created by the F1.4 aperture creates impressive three-dimensional images. It’s also ideal for gimbal-based shooting systems, making it a versatile lens for situations requiring mobility. Its impressive imaging capabilities also support the creation of high-quality, immersive content for professional use, such as live commerce, webinars, and corporate promotions.
Stepping motor for smooth autofocus
The lightweight focus lens works through a precisely controlled stepping motor. This motor controlls high-speed, high-precision autofocus, demonstrating excellent tracking even in moving scenes, enabling high-quality video production.

Optical design that suppresses focus breathing
The lens design suppresses focus blur. This feature reduces changes in the angle of view caused by focusing, supporting natural video expression with minimal changes in composition.
Equipped with an aperture ring and control ring
The lens comes equipped with an aperture ring that allows intuitive aperture operation. Additionally, the Canon RF mount version comes equipped with a control ring that allows customization according to the user’s settings.
Dust-proof and drip-proof construction with water-repellent and dirt-resistant coating
In addition to being dustproof and weather-resistant, the front of the lens is coated with a water-repellent and dirt-resistant coating, allowing you to shoot with confidence even in harsh outdoor environments.
*This product is designed to be dustproof and drip-proof, but not waterproof. Be careful not to expose it to large amounts of water.
