NAB2026

Fujifilm Corporation announced the development of the “FUJINON UA94x8.7 BESM” (hereinafter: UA94x8.7), a 4K-compatible broadcast zoom lens. It is scheduled for release in 2026 as a new addition to its lineup of 4K-compatible broadcast zoom lenses.
The FUJINON UA94x8.7 is compatible with broadcast cameras equipped with 2/3-inch sensors. Additionally, it achieves a high-magnification 94x zoom covering focal lengths from wide-angle 8.7mm to super-telephoto 818mm. Because it can cover everything from wide-angle to super-telephoto with a single lens, it offers excellent mobility and is said to be useful in a variety of scenes such as sports broadcasts, large-scale events, and concerts. It enables a variety of visual expressions, from immersive wide-angle shots to close-up footage of subjects.
The UA94x8.7 will be showcased as a reference exhibit at “NAB Show 2026,” one of the world’s largest international broadcast equipment exhibitions, held in Las Vegas, USA, from April 19th to April 22nd, 2026.
High cost performance while maintaining performance comparable to high-end models.
In recent years, the broadcasting industry has seen a significant increase in the need to efficiently produce high-quality video, particularly for sports broadcasts, large-scale events, and live streaming. Video production styles are diversifying, and broadcast equipment is being used in a wider range of settings beyond just professional applications. Therefore, there is a growing demand for versatile box-type lenses that offer an excellent balance of performance and cost-effectiveness.
To meet these demands, the UA94x8.7 incorporates a unique image stabilization control system and high operability during zooming and focusing, features cultivated in high-end models. This is said to reduce the burden on camera operators and contribute to smooth operation on set.
Fujinon 8K Capable Lens Development Continues
Since launching the world’s first 4K-compatible broadcast lens in 2015, the company has expanded its lineup to include 8K-compatible broadcast lenses, leading the way in improving image quality. Along with the “FUJINON UA22x4.8BERD,” “FUJINON UA30x7.3BERD,” and “FUJINON UA16x4BERD” lenses announced today, the company states that it will continue to develop and provide high-performance lenses and accessories that support comfortable shooting, meeting the diverse needs of video production sites.
