Roland announced the release of the V-1-4K, a long-awaited 4K-compatible model in its popular V-1 series of compact video switchers. It makes it easy to set up video systems for events, live streaming, and conference rooms.
In recent years, with the increasing popularity of 4K-compatible devices such as cameras, PCs, and displays, the demand for 4K-compatible video switchers has also grown. The “V-1-4K” is a 4K-compatible model that retains the size and ease of use of the long-selling “V-1 series” compact video switcher. With highly flexible input and output capabilities that allow for the simultaneous use of 4K and HD, it makes it easier than ever to build video systems for events, live streaming, and conference rooms.
Roland V-1-4K Main Features
- A compact video switcher with 4K/60p HDR support and 5 HDMI inputs and 5 outputs.
- Equipped with highly visible illuminated buttons and a T-bar, the panel layout enables intuitive operation.
- All HDMI inputs are equipped with scalers to support mixed 4K and HD resolutions and frame rates.

Highly flexible input/output
The V-1-4K is a 4K-compatible video switcher, but it’s not necessary to have all connected devices be 4K. It features scalers on all HDMI inputs, allowing for a mix of 4K and HD resolutions and frame rates. HDMI outputs 3 and 4 also have a down-conversion function, allowing 4K to be converted to HD for output.
ROI (Region of Interest) mode
It extracts up to four HD resolution shots from the video feed of a single 4K camera input to HDMI INPUT 1, enabling a pseudo-multi-camera setup. This significantly streamlines the setup process for cameras and other equipment. The multiview features a dedicated ROI mode layout. When combined with the ROI operation screen of the iPad app “V-1-4K Remote,” it enables intuitive operation.
UVC-compatible USB-C port
Equipped with a UVC-compatible USB-C port, the switcher connects to a computer without installing any drivers. Since it is recognized by the computer as a device equivalent to a standard webcam, it can be used with a variety of streaming and recording applications. It also features a built-in USB scaler, allowing for 4K to be converted to HD for output.
PTZ Camera Remote Control/Assignable Pad
Equipped with a LAN port, it supports remote control of up to 5 PTZ cameras via a switching hub. The PTZ cameras are compatible with the control protocols of various manufacturers, allowing for the use of cameras from different manufacturers.
The control panel features eight assignable pads, allowing direct control of up to 32 different functions by switching between four banks. These pads also control PTZ camera functions such as pan, tilt, zoom, and preset recall.
Roland V-1-4K Supports a wide range of applications
- Title/graphics generation software “Graphics Presenter Ver. 3.0”: Software capable of FILL/KEY compositing 4K graphics including alpha channels.
- VenuSet Ver. 1.2 is a customizable remote control app that allows you to freely customize and arrange the buttons and faders you need on your control panel.
- Windows/Mac compatible “V-1-4K RCS”, iPad compatible “V-1-4K Remote”: Remote control apps that allow detailed settings and operations on a graphical screen.
*VenuSet, V-1-4K RCS, and V-1-4K Remote do not support USB video monitoring functionality.
