NANLUX announced the “Evoke 5C,” a professional spotlight equipped with the advanced “Nebula C8” full-color engine in an ultra-compact 160g body.
The NANLUX Evoke 5C is an ultra-compact spotlight developed with professional use in mind. Until now, many truly compact LED spotlights have failed to meet the “precision” and “controllability” demanded by lighting technicians (gaffers) and directors of photography (DPs). However, NANLUX is poised to overturn this conventional wisdom with this precise 6W lighting fixture equipped with a built-in battery.
The Evoke 5C offers professional-level dimming capabilities and precise full-color output, while maintaining a compact size of just 5.6 x 4.4 x 4.5 cm and a weight of only 160 g. It is ideal for use in confined spaces, tabletop photography, macro photography, or as an inconspicuous practical light integrated into furniture.
A wide range of magnetically detachable modifiers, including soft domes, Fresnel lenses, spot beam lenses, snoots, and projection attachments, allow for precise accent lighting, fill lighting, and ambiance creation.
This device offers versatile use options, including handheld operation with a snap-on battery grip, precise angle adjustment with a dedicated yoke stand, secure mounting with a 1/4-inch (approx. 6.35mm) anti-rotation screw, or concealment within props. Its robust construction and IP67 dust and water resistance allow for deployment anytime, anywhere. An optional underwater housing enables use at even greater depths. The Evoke 5C combines professional-grade precision and flexibility in an extremely compact design, making it ideal for demanding lighting applications.
NANLUX Evoke 5C 0- Convenient and versatile operation
The NANLUX Evoke 5C measures just 5.6 x 4.4 x 4.5 cm and weighs only 160g. Its exceptional portability and quick setup make it ideal for handheld use in mobile shoots, or discreetly positioned within the frame to provide subtle fill light. It boasts an illuminance of 2,026 lux (light unit only, 5600K) at a distance of 0.5m, which can be approximately doubled with an optional Fresnel lens and 5.5 times brighter with a spot beam lens. This makes it perfect for highlighting details, creating atmosphere, localized highlights, and precise accent lighting.
Versatility thanks to a wide range of accessories
Fourteen dedicated accessories, including dimming, mounting, power, and control options, are designed specifically for the Evoke 5C. The front features a magnetic and snap-fit design, while the back utilizes a magnetic and latching design with electronic contacts for quick and easy attachment and detachment of accessories. A 1/4-inch (approximately 6.35mm) mount allows for attachment to light stands and other supports, and the USB-C port provides power input, firmware updates, and adapter cable connection for wired DMX control.
Innovative C8 Light Engine
Like the larger NANLUX Evoke 150C and Evoke 600C models, the Evoke 5C features the advanced “Nebula C8 color light engine.” This integrates eight LEDs in Deep Red, Red, Amber, Lime, Green, Cyan, Blue, and Indigo. This achieves high color saturation and provides an ultra-wide color temperature range from 1,000K to 20,000K (with ±200 green/magenta adjustment). It achieves excellent color rendering with an average CRI/TLCI of 98. With seven built-in lighting modes—CCT, HSI, HSIW, RGBW, XY coordinate, Gel, and Effect—it offers versatile lighting control for creative and professional applications.
Flexible power options
The built-in lithium battery provides approximately 2.5 hours of operation, and with the battery grip, it lasts for 4.7 hours. This makes it ideal for mobile shooting and quick repositioning. It also supports USB-C power delivery, is compatible with E27 socket adapters, and can be charged via electronic contacts inside the case of the 8-LED kit.
Dustproof/waterproof performance
With its IP67-rated body, the Evoke 5C delivers reliable performance even in harsh environments. It can withstand submersion in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. An optional IP68-rated underwater housing extends its operating depth to 30 meters, enabling high-quality lighting even for diving applications.
A variety of control methods
The Evoke 5C supports multiple wired and wireless control methods to meet professional demands, regardless of the complexity of the production. Direct control from the unit itself or wireless control via the NANLINK app is possible. For larger and more complex shoots, wired DMX and wireless CRMX remote control are also available. Furthermore, NFC functionality allows for the simultaneous setting of DMX parameters for multiple devices even when the power is off, significantly improving pairing efficiency.
Optional kit
In addition to the standard set, single-light and eight-light kits are available, supporting a wide range of shooting setups from solo creators to lighting technicians on large-scale productions. The single-light kit includes various modifiers, allowing for quick switching between spot, soft, and controlled beam patterns. The convenient carrying bag comes with a carabiner, making it easy to attach to a belt or bag for easy transport.
The 8-LED kit includes eight Evoke 5C units, comprehensive modifiers, mounts, power and control accessories, and a specially designed GUTEK T-230 charging case. This portable solution combines efficient storage, charging, and protection. The case supports three power options: AC power, D-Tap battery, and USB-C PD adapter, and can charge eight Evoke 5C units and four battery grips simultaneously.

NANLUX Evoke 5C Price and release date
The Evoke 5C prices at $219, the Evoke 5C Kit at $265, and the Evoke 5C 8-Light Kit at $2,950 (all prices exclude local taxes). It will be exhibited at the NAB Show in Las Vegas from April 19th to 22nd (booth C5925), and shipments will begin in April.
