ARRI has announced the cforce MAX, a new high-performance lens motor that enhances the Hi-5 lens control system with superior speed and intelligent onboard control. Fast, powerful, yet compact and lightweight, the cforce MAX offers a wide range of mounting options, easy setup, and high reliability even in harsh shooting environments.

What is the ARRI cforce MAX ?
The cforce MAX offers twice the speed and equivalent power output compared to its successor, the cforce plus motor, while being 15% lighter and smaller. Perfectly complementing ARRI’s lens motor lineup, which already includes the compact cforce mini and the wireless cforce mini RF, the cforce MAX is ideal for large cinema prime lenses, zoom lenses, vintage lenses, and specialized optics that require strength and precision. At the same time, its smaller form factor provides high versatility in various configurations, including handheld, gimbal, and studio shoots.
The included new ARRI motor rod clamp MRC-1 provides a robust connection to the lens gear and is easily adjustable to multiple positions on 19mm/15mm rods. The MRC-1 is also compatible with cforce mini and cforce mini RF, making it an attractive upgrade for Hi-5 system users, significantly improving stability and flexibility.
Equipped with an advanced brushless motor, the cforce MAX offers superior quietness, durability, and maintainability. Its extremely low motor response delay makes using the cforce MAX a completely new experience for focus pullers. With high-speed operation of up to 400 teeth per second and market-leading low latency, it is ideal for focus tracking systems where movement in front of the camera is unpredictable and real-time response is required.

Georg Lanz, a beta tester for cforce MAX and an experienced focus puller, commented as follows:
“I have tested the cforce MAX in the hottest place on Earth, in jungles, and out on the open sea. Beyond its reliability, the responsiveness and speed genuinely allow me to do a better job, especially in documentary or free-flowing environments where I am constantly reacting to unexpected movement.”
- Georg Lanz, Focus Puller/Beta Tester

Physical Buttons Make for Familiarity
The cforce MAX features physical buttons for controlling key functions, such as changing the motor axis. This is a familiar control option for users of other ARRI cforce motors. Furthermore, a built-in display with a touchscreen interface allows for intuitive settings and status checks directly on the motor itself, with plans for future functional expansions.
Like all ARRI electronic control systems, the cforce MAX will receive continuous software updates to enhance its functionality. Similar to other cforce motors, it features dual LBUS ports for seamless daisy-chaining using standard cables and flexible system integration, while also ensuring full backward compatibility with LBUS. Because it’s compatible with most existing ARRI mounting brackets, rods, and drive gear, film crews can easily integrate it into their existing setups.
The cforce MAX is currently on sale.
