Zhongyi Optics announced the new “PITTURA 30mm F2.4,” a manual focus wide-angle prime lens for medium format sensors, as part of the new “PITTURA” series of interchangeable lenses. Available mounts are Fujifilm G (GFX) and the Hasselblad X mounts.
This product combines a wide 84.5° angle of view, equivalent to 24mm in 35mm format, close-up shooting capabilities with a minimum focusing distance of 0.2m, and a bright f/2.4 aperture.
Not only can you capture vast landscapes and buildings, but you can also get boldly close to flowers, food, and small objects, making use of the surrounding space in your shots. Leveraging the perspective unique to wide-angle lenses and the rich information capacity of medium-format sensors, it brings a sense of depth to even everyday scenes.

Whether you’re shooting from a distance to capture the whole picture or getting close to highlight the main subject, this single lens allows you to enjoy a variety of perspectives.

Capture the whole picture, and admire it up close. Minimum focusing distance: 0.2m
The Zhongyi Optics PITTURA 30mm F2.4 is a wide-angle lens that allows you to get as close as 0.2m to your subject for shooting.
It’s possible to capture flowers, food, and small objects filling the entire frame while also broadly capturing the background scenery and the atmosphere of the room. Unlike close-ups with standard or telephoto lenses, it allows you to make the foreground subject appear larger while creating a dynamic sense of perspective that makes the space seem to expand towards the background.
One can capture images of the delicious food found during travels, along with the atmosphere of the restaurants that reflect the local culture. Approach the flowers blooming by the roadside, also capturing the summer scenery unfolding in the background. Also, capture not only the subject itself, but also “where and how one encountered it” in a single photograph.
Open aperture of F2.4, creating a natural sense of depth even in wide-angle photos.
The maximum aperture is F2.4. By getting close to the subject, you can naturally blur the background and make the subject stand out impressively.
Photographs taken with a wide-angle lens tend to be documentary-style, with the entire frame in focus. This product allows you to enjoy a more three-dimensional expression, incorporating a wide background while guiding the viewer’s eye to the main subject.

In environmental portraits, where the subject and surrounding landscape are captured together, the lens effectively portrays the subject while preserving the atmosphere of the shooting location. Even in street snapshots and indoor photography, the wide-angle lens’s ability to combine spatial expression with a soft background blur creates a clear subject in the photograph.
With an 84.5° field of view, capture the vastness of space in a single image.
With its wide 84.5° field of view, it dynamically captures buildings, deep interior spaces, and vast natural landscapes.
Even indoors where it’s difficult to maintain sufficient distance from the subject, it’s easy to capture a wide area in the frame, making it suitable for architectural and interior photography. You can capture the vastness you feel in the moment, from travel scenery and cityscapes to majestic landscapes of mountains and the sea, all in a single shot.
Thanks to its optical design that minimizes distortion, it naturally depicts buildings and cityscapes with many straight lines. Taking advantage of the abundant information captured by the medium format sensor, you can enjoy rich detail in every aspect.
From close-ups to distant shots, it offers stable image quality.
The optical system employs a 12-group, 13-element lens configuration, including two ED lenses and one aspherical lens. This effectively suppresses chromatic aberration and distortion, resulting in clear image rendering. It delivers high contrast and resolution in the center of the frame even at wide apertures, rendering main subjects with rich depth and realism.
Furthermore, it features a floating mechanism that corrects aberrations by moving some of the lens groups according to the shooting distance. This ensures stable image quality from close-up shots of subjects to distant landscapes.
The time spent focusing is also part of the creative process.
This product is a manual focus lens, allowing the photographer to finely adjust the focus themselves.
As you move the focus ring, you consider where to draw the viewfinder’s attention to the subject, carefully creating a single photograph. The appeal lies in the tactile experience of taking a photograph, which is different from autofocus.
The lens barrel features a click-stop aperture ring. This makes it easy to understand aperture changes even while looking through the viewfinder, allowing you to concentrate on shooting with focus and depth of field in mind. It supports careful image creation in situations where you want to reflect the photographer’s intentions in each and every shot, such as landscapes, architecture, portraits, and snapshots.
A wide-angle lens for medium format cameras, now in a portable size.
Despite being a wide-angle lens compatible with medium format sensors, the lens barrel is designed with portability and handling in mind when mounted on a camera.
The Fujifilm GFX G-mount version is approximately 77mm long and weighs approximately 520g. Its size makes it easy to incorporate into situations where you’re taking photos while on the go, such as traveling to find landscapes or taking snapshots in the city.

Whether you’re looking at a wide landscape or wanting to get closer to a subject in front of you, you can express your own perspective directly in a photograph without changing lenses.
