Renown Korean maker LK SAMYANG announced the new AF 60-180mm F2.8 FE/L,” a large-aperture full-frame telephoto zoom lens. LK SAMYANG jointly developed this lens in connection with Schneider-Kreuznach. The lens is due to be released on Friday, September 18, 2026. L mount and Sony E Mount options available.
The SAMYANG AF 60-180mm F2.8 was developed by combining the optical technology of the German company Schneider-Kreuznach, known for lenses such as “Xenon” and “Super-Angulon,” with the manufacturing technology of the South Korean company LK SAMYANG.
Based on the concept of “Capturing more while carrying less,” this product is a large-aperture telephoto zoom lens that combines portability with a bright F2.8 aperture throughout the zoom range. It will be marketed as a joint brand product of Schneider-Kreuznach and LK SAMYANG.

Three Schneider x Samyang f/2.8 zoom lenses cover a 14-180mm range (FE mount).
The “AF 14-24mm F2.8 FE (445g)”, “AF 24-60mm F2.8 FE (494g)”, and the newly added “AF 60-180mm F2.8 FE (730g)” cover a focal range from 14mm to 180mm. The L-mount version, “AF 60-180mm F2.8 L”, weighs 728g.

The aperture is wide open at f/2.8 throughout the entire zoom range.
The maximum aperture remains F2.8 regardless of the focal length, making it easy to maintain a consistent exposure setting for both still photography and videography. It also supports low-light shooting, taking advantage of the bright F2.8 aperture, and allows for expressive subject creation using bokeh.

Floating Focus System
It employs a floating focus system to minimize the degradation of optical performance due to changes in shooting distance, from close up to infinity.
Linear STM (Stepping Motor)
It employs a linear STM to achieve quiet operation and high-speed, high-precision autofocus.

Lightweight design at 730g (728g for L-mount)
Weighing in at a lightweight 730g for the FE mount and 728g for the L mount, it prioritizes portability. Designed for use in situations involving long shooting sessions or travel, travel, weddings, and documentary producers will love this lens.

At the wide-angle end, the minimum focusing distance is 0.35m.
It supports a minimum focusing distance of 0.35m at the wide-angle end and a maximum magnification of 0.26x (1:3.8). The lens works well for detailed photography of food, products, and textures.

Convenient features
- Intuitive controls: Features an AF/MF switch, focus ring, and zoom lock function.
- Firmware update: The lens body has a USB port, allowing for firmware updates.
- Weather sealing: Weather sealing is used in various moving parts to protect the lens from water droplets, light rain, snow, dust, etc. *This does not guarantee dustproof or splashproof performance.
