Panasonic Corporation announced the development of two high-end remote camera series, the “AW-UE200 and AW-UER200,” which feature the world’s first global shutter MOS sensor*1. The Panasonic AW-UE200 series is scheduled for release in February 2027, and the AW-UER200 series in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027. Both models are scheduled to be exhibited at IBC2026, which will be held in Amsterdam, Netherlands from September 11th to 14th, 2026.

Development Background
Panasonic has previously offered high-quality image creation that seamlessly blends into the world of studio cameras with its high-end remote cameras, such as the AW-UE160W/K, presenting new possibilities for the use of remote cameras in various settings. Currently, its applications are expanding beyond studio productions requiring precise reproduction, such as virtual productions using LED walls, to areas demanding more advanced visual expression, such as live events where lighting and effects are constantly changing, and sports broadcasts that accurately capture fleeting moments.
In response to this growing demand, the company developed the AW-UE200/AW-UER200 series to capture every moment creators desire with even greater precision. Through the adoption of a global shutter system and various core technologies that expand the range of expression, the series is said to open up new possibilities for remote cameras.
Panasonic AW-UE200 and AW-UER200 Main Features
Image expression with minimal distortion thanks to a 1.2-inch global shutter 5K MOS sensor.
The Panasonic AW-UE200 and AW-UER200 series is the first remote camera to employ a global shutter MOS sensor *1. Its low-distortion imagery supports video production in a variety of production environments, including reshoots using LED walls in studios, live events with lighting effects, and sports broadcasts capturing fast-moving subjects.
In studio environments, it offers excellent compatibility with LED walls, resulting in natural images with minimal distortion. For live events, it is less susceptible to flicker from stage lighting and LED effects, enabling visual expression that preserves the intended effect. Furthermore, in sports broadcasts, it captures fast-moving subjects without distortion, faithfully depicting immersive scenes.
Additionally, 5K oversampling enables high-resolution 4K video with rich detail down to the finest parts. It faithfully depicts the texture, contours, and even the smallest details of the subject, expanding the range of expression in video production.
Furthermore, the series plans on supporting high frame rate (HFR) 120 fps and 180 fps HD high-speed shooting in the future. This will provide high-definition video that allows for clear viewing of even the smallest details in slow-motion replays and footage used for referee decisions.
Newly developed 80° wide-angle/22x optical zoom lens allows for a wide range of shooting scenarios.
The AW-UE200/AW-UER200 series supports 22x optical zoom, allowing you to capture subjects clearly even in large venues. Furthermore, it supports variable zoom control from a minimum of approximately 0.5 seconds to a maximum of 180 seconds, from the telephoto end to the wide-angle end, enabling smooth zoom expression according to the scene and directorial intent. In addition, the wide-angle 80° horizontal field of view makes it possible to capture a wide area even in limited installation environments.
Ultra-high-speed pan and tilt performance that responds precisely to your operating intentions (AW-UE200 series)
The AW-UE200 series employs a pan-tilt mechanism that operates with high precision from low to ultra-high speeds. It follows the operator’s movements in real time, enabling smooth camera work across a wide range of speeds. With a maximum speed of 400 deg/s and acceleration performance of approximately 0.2 seconds from a standstill to maximum speed, along with high responsiveness, it instantly tracks subjects even in fast-paced scenes. This ensures shots capture reliably and preventing missed opportunities, enabling dynamic and immersive video expression.
Roll mechanism frees you from the constraint of “angle” (AW-UER200 series)
The AW-UER200 series features a roll mechanism ranging from -200° to +200°. This not only enables impressive compositional expressions such as rolling effects, but also offers flexible support for vertical video for social media and streaming purposes with its simultaneous output function in 16:9 and 9:16 aspect ratios. It enables free camera work based on “the image you want to capture,” rather than “where you can place it.”
Furthermore, the ease of installation has been dramatically improved by utilizing the roll mechanism. Horizontal adjustments work with a single touch from the remote controller. This supports quick setup even in environments such as installation on robotics equipment like cranes or on sloped ceilings.
Seamless IP system with models equipped with SMPTE ST 2110/Dante*2.
The AW-UE210W/K and AW-UER210W/K support SMPTE ST 2110 and Dante. In addition to 4K uncompressed video output, future support for low-latency transmission via JPEG XS is planned for SMPTE ST 2110*3. Operation utilizing the return IP input is possible.
Furthermore, it supports voice transmission via Dante, enabling flexible IP operation tailored to the application and system configuration. In addition, both SMPTE ST 2110 and Dante have redundant capabilities, allowing for seamless deployment into existing redundant system environments.
Panasonic states that it will continue to work closely with on-site users to pursue “even greater convenience,” and as a leading company, will continue to provide new value in remote cameras that combine aesthetics with the implementation of new technologies.
