Nikon and their pivot into making video-capable cameras continues well into Inter BEE 2024, with the renown photo camera maker debuting in their booth the XPEED7 Processor-included Z50II and a power-zoom Z-mount lens.
Let’s go over some of the highlights!
Nikon Z50II
New to the APS-C “DX” line of Nikon cameras comes the Z50II. The Nikon Z50II processor is the exact same as the Z6III, Z8, Z9, and Zf, which all have highly touted video production capabilities and the ability to maximize shooting in N-Log. This camera is designed for every shooter, both the casual, the student, hobbyist, etc. We look forward testing the Z50II soon!
Nikon Power Zoom Lens Debuts at the Inter BEE 2024 Booth
The Nikon 28-135mm f/4 Power Zoom Lens made its debut at Inter BEE 2024 as well. Incredibly easy to use with internal controls, and compatible with Nikon remote controls, this lens is ideal for using a Z8/Z9 on a movie set or a broadcasting situation.
Nikon and RED – a New Partnership Showcased at their Booth at Inter BEE 2024
The Nikon and RED Digital Cinema merger this year rocked the industry. Coming off a lawsuit settlement over N-RAW lossless compression, the two companies merging together further pushes Nikon into the direction of videomaking. Additionally, the Nikon booth was close to the RED distributor in Japan, RAID. However, both showcased the new LUT options available for the Nikon Z8 and Z9 from RED. Additionally, Nikon has a partnership which allows for N-log to be compatible with the RED luts.
BOLT Cinebot
One of the intriguing partners of Nikon is Mark Roberts Robot Control, who brought their BOLT Cinebot to Japan again. With computer-programmable keyframes, it’s designed for ease of use. Take all sorts of incredible, precise shots with this robot. It’s quite interesting seeing it in action.
