Leica Camera has released “Ver.1.1” (August 2024), “Ver.1.2” (October 2024), and “Ver. 1.3” (December 2024) update the LEICA LUX App. This update to the LEICA LUX App allows users to enjoy Leica photos on the iPhone. The latest version is equipped with new functions that further expand the creative possibilities of mobile photographers, allowing users to enjoy the world of photography unique to Leica, which allows for high image quality and artistic expression.

Ver. 1.1, released in August 2024, and Ver. 1.2, released in October 2024, have added new functions and types of lenses that can reproduce the following images, and have been improved to allow further control over the finished image.
You can change the type of lens, aperture, focus position, and “Leica Look” that reproduces the image even after shooting. Not only can you change the angle of view, focus position, and the atmosphere of the finished image, but you can also adjust the distance between the foreground and background to create a different impression.

LEICA LUX App Update – Added lens types:
“Summilux 90mm” (only compatible with iPhones equipped with a 3x telephoto camera) and “Summilux 120mm” (only compatible with iPhones equipped with a 5x telephoto camera) have been newly added. The function of reproducing the depiction of Leica’s premium lenses has been expanded to the telephoto range.
Added “Leica Look”:
“Leica Chrome” and “Leica Brass” have been added as new “Leica Looks” that expand the possibilities of creative expression. It is possible to finish with a timeless beauty of analog atmosphere as if it was taken with Leica’s old film camera.

Added lock screen widget function:
You can now launch the Leica LUX app and access your favorite lenses directly from the iPhone lock screen, so you can capture the best moment quickly and without missing it.
Leica expanded its mobile business by acquiring Fjorden Electra, a Norwegian startup that develops mobile photography products, in 2023. The result of the joint development was the iPhone app “Leica LUX” that was born in 2024. “Leica LUX” enables iPhone users around the world to achieve outstanding depiction and professional-level photographic expression as if they had taken photos with a Leica lens.
