Inter BEE 2024 Booth Review

DZOFILM at Inter BEE 2024 debuted in Japan the new ARLES Prime lens. Read more about the specifics here in this article, but it was truly impressive seeing it in person. The first set was announced in June, and the second in September.

For one, the ARLES Prime lineup runs mostly the same lens length and weight, save for the 135mm model on upward. This makes the lenses easy to transport for field shooting.

Note these three focal lengths are the same size, and same iris of T1.4.

The smooth 16 blade iris allows for beautiful bokeh and light control, as well. The lineup consists of 14mm to 180mm focal lengths, and the image circle is for full frame or vista imaging sensors. DZOFILM sells adapters to mount the ARLES Prime to your respective non-PL mount cameras.

Additionally, DZOFILM showcased the Pavo Anamorphic X2 at their Inter BEE 2024 booth. Designed for the Super 35 sensor, there are neutral color and blue color options, which allow for more creative freedom. Anamorphic lenses often have a streaking or stretching effect due to the anamorphic squeezing, but these Pavo Anamorphic lenses are designed to minimize the stretching and make it less obvious.

DZOFILM also showed off their Pavo Anamorphic X2 macro options. Macro lenses for cinematic production but still maintaining light and image quality.

We look forward to seeing more from DZOFILM in the future, and will aim to test out some of their lenses in the coming months!
