DZOFILM has just announced the new Arles B set, a perfect addition to the Arles series, offering a variety of focal lengths including 14mm T1.9, 21mm T1.4, 40mm T1.4, 135mm T1.8, and 180mm T2.4.

The Arles B set includes a wide range of lenses, from the ultra-wide 14mm T1.9, which offers a diagonal 116° field of view in Vista Vision format with minimal distortion, to the 180mm T2.4 telephoto lens, designed to capture minute details and depth. The 14mm lens offers a panoramic view at a close distance of 0.28m, making it ideal for wide-angle and close-up photography. The 40mm lens offers a natural field of view and a variety of perspectives. The balanced focal length and maximum aperture provide detailed depiction and excellent depth of field, making it suitable for a variety of scenes and creative photography. The 135mm and 180mm lenses also offer impressive spatial compression and shallow depth of field, making them ideal for detailed close-ups and expressive portraits.

The 14mm, 21mm, 40mm, 135mm and 180mm lenses feature two aspherical lenses, including a large-diameter lens with a diameter of 50mm, to improve image quality in low light conditions. The design corrects spherical aberration, coma and distortion, and reduces onion ring blur. In addition, the floating lens group structure minimizes aberrations during focus transitions from infinity to close-ups, ensuring extremely clear and faithful images.
Exquisite craftsmanship for pure images
True to the precision of the Arles series, the B-set lenses feature a custom low-saturation blue coating that reduces reflections and suppresses stray light. This coating, along with the internal ultra-matte black finish, ensures sharp, clean images even in backlit scenes.

The Arles B set is designed with work efficiency in mind. A unified 95mm front diameter makes it compatible with industry-standard filters and matte boxes, streamlining the filming process. Lens lengths are consistent from 14mm to 100mm, with the 135mm and 180mm being just 9mm longer, facilitating a smooth transition between lenses and ensuring balanced operation with stabilizers, Steadicams and handheld setups.

Covering Vista Vision sensors with a maximum image circle of 46.5mm, the Arles B set delivers expansive, immersive visuals with enhanced depth and three-dimensionality. Compatible with high-end cinema cameras like the BMD 12K, RED Monstro and ARRI Alexa LF, these lenses deliver a sharp, neutral look that meets the stringent demands of large format film and high-end post-production workflows.
Additionally, it is compatible with KOOP magnetic filters, Marlin expanders, and other optical adapters for added versatility.
