NAB2026

ATOMOS at NAB Show 2026, the company announced the acquisition of Flanders Scientific (FSI), one of the most highly regarded companies in the professional reference monitor market. This strategic move further strengthens ATOMOS’s long-term commitment to providing high-precision monitoring throughout the entire production process, from on-camera shooting to final color grading and delivery.
By welcoming FSI into the ATOMOS Group, the company combines world-class expertise in color science and reference display technology with ATOMOS’s global reach, product innovation, and collaborative ecosystem. This acquisition will enable ATOMOS to provide more comprehensive and integrated monitoring solutions to filmmakers, broadcasters, and content creators worldwide.
Merger Details
ATOMOS has already established a broad suite of monitoring products that cover multiple stages of production. This includes on-camera monitoring with the Shinobi and Ninja series monitor recorders, on-set monitoring with the Sumo series, and rack-mount solutions for broadcast and enterprise workflows with the Shogun AV line. Furthermore, the previously announced Studio Pro line will complement ATOMOS’s expanding reference monitoring capabilities later this year.
With the addition of FSI, ATOMOS now covers the entire monitoring domain, from in-camera monitoring, on-set monitoring, and live production to post-production and final delivery. This integrated product portfolio further strengthens ATOMOS’s commitment to providing high-quality, valuable solutions across the entire professional video ecosystem.
In addition to expanding its product portfolio, the acquisition of FSI will enable ATOMOS to immediately support the top tier of the professional monitoring market. Reference-grade monitoring is defined not merely by high performance, but by industry proven track record and reliability. FSI monitors are widely recognized and trusted by post-production companies, broadcasters, and major content studios that demand the stringent requirements of accurately mastering and delivering content. Achieving this level of certification and adoption requires years of product development, testing, and industry validation. This acquisition will complement ATOMOS’s current product lineup by adding a portfolio of products and technologies that are already trusted and proven at the highest levels of the industry.
FSI To Operate Independently as a Brand
FSI will continue to operate as an independent brand within the ATOMOS Group. There will be no change to the company’s product philosophy, engineering approach, or the high standards that professionals trust. The reliable precision, consistency, and performance that characterize FSI will continue to be offered.
At the same time, this acquisition will strengthen Atomos’s global support system and sales network. With expanded infrastructure and regional presence, Atomos will be able to better serve users in markets that were previously difficult to reach, while maintaining strong support for FSI’s established professional user base.
This announcement is based on Atomos’ extensive investment in advanced display technology and the continued development of the “Studio Pro” series. Together with FSI, Atomos will accelerate its vision of providing a comprehensive monitoring ecosystem that covers every stage of production.
Comments from Executives from ATOMOS and FSI
“We are extremely proud to welcome the FSI team to ATOMOS,” Peter Barber, CEO of ATOMOS, commented. “They have built a reputation for absolute precision and reliability in the field of reference monitoring, which perfectly aligns with the direction we are trying to lead ATOMOS’s business. This acquisition will not only strengthen our commitment to monitoring at every level, from in-camera to final delivery, but will also accelerate our ability to support the highest standards of professional production and post-production workflows. By combining FSI’s expertise with our global scale and innovation, we will create truly unique value for the industry. Equally important, we are committed to preserving Flanders Scientific’s unique identity. Our brand, philosophy, and approach to engineering will remain unchanged, while we will enjoy the support and reach of the broader ATOMOS organization.”
“Joining ATOMOS is an important and exciting moment for our company,” FSI’s CEO, Bram Desmet, commented. “FSI was founded on the simple principle that “professionals responsible for image fidelity need reliable tools.” That standard has never changed, and it will never change. This partnership will provide the infrastructure and reach to effectively fulfill that promise to more customers in more markets than we could have achieved alone. We have high expectations for what we can deliver together, not only to the broadcast industry, digital imaging technologists, and colorist communities we have supported so far, but also to the broader production industry that ATOMOS reaches every day. FSI’s best achievements to date are yet to come.”
This acquisition underscores Atomos’ unwavering commitment to precision monitoring and represents a significant step towards providing reliable, reference-grade tools to the global production community.
Both brands will have their own booths at NAB 2026 (ATOMOS booth: C4731, FSI booth: N1827), and there are plans for cross-exhibition of products between the two venues.
