Sony releases home recording microphone “C-80”. Perfect for capturing vocals, instruments and voice content at home
Sony will release the unidirectional condenser microphone “C-80” on December 9, 2022 for creators who record and distribute vocals, musical instruments, and voice content at home. The price is open, and the estimated market price is around 60,000 yen including tax.
The “C-80” is a microphone capsule developed based on the “C-100”, which has a reputation as a microphone for professional studios. The same material as the 800G is used for the diaphragm. In particular, vocals and voices, for which the mid-low range is important, and acoustic instruments such as guitars and pianos are richly reproduced.
In addition, the dual-diaphragm structure, in which a vibrating membrane is also placed on the back side of the microphone capsule, suppresses the excessive bass range that occurs when the mouth is brought close to the microphone to the same level as the “C-100”, resulting in stable sound pickup. It is possible.
The microphone body adopts the “anti-noise housing structure” inherited from the “C-800G” and “C-100”. It also has a low-cut filter that suppresses unwanted low-frequency noise generated by outdoor noise and home equipment, and a pad switch function that minimizes distortion caused by excessive input sound.
