FUJIFILM Corporation announced the development of the “FUJINON HZK24-300mm” (nicknamed “Duvo Portable* 1) portable type lens.
The “FUJINON HZK24-300mm” is a lens that uses a dual format system which supports two large sensors*2 . The lens format creates cinema-like image expressions that takes advantage of the bokeh created by the shallow depth of field.
This lens is a small, lightweight and portable type that exhibits high mobility in sports broadcasts, live concert broadcasts, and other broadcasting usages.
The release of “FUJINON HZK24-300mm” is scheduled for spring 2024. The company will present the “FUJINON HZK24-300mm” at the International Broadcasting Equipment Exhibition “IBC2023” to be held in Amsterdam from September 15th to 18th, 2023. The company plans to exhibit the “HZK Wide” wide-angle zoom lens, which is characterized by its light weight.

The Fujifilm Fujinon HZK24-300mm has numerous features that make a lens of this size into a powerhouse.
Achieves 12.5x zoom covering a focal length of 24-300mm despite being small and lightweight
It has a 12.5x zoom that covers a focal length of 24-300mm, and is compact and lightweight with an overall length of 270.5mm and a weight of 2.95kg.
By using the expander*3 built into the lens, it is possible to shift the focal length from 36mm to 450mm, which is 1.5 times longer on the telephoto side. You can capture the subject at the intended size even from far away.

Dual format system
The lens is designed to be compatible with Super 35mm sensors. By using the built-in expander, the size of the image circle can be expanded by 1.5 times, so it can be used with cameras equipped with a 35mm full-frame sensor, which is even larger than the Super 35mm sensor*4.
When used in combination with a camera equipped with a sensor equivalent to a full-frame 35mm, it is possible to take pictures with the same angle of view as a super 35mm sensor while maximizing the excellent optical performance.

Cinema-like image expression
Cinema-like image expression that highlights the subject is possible. Various aberrations are thoroughly suppressed by using highly precisely polished large-diameter aspherical lenses and super ED lenses. It also exhibits exceptional optical performance exceeding 4K. Furthermore, by suppressing ghosts, flare, and color bleeding, it achieves high-definition and natural depictions. Although it is a high magnification lens compatible with a large sensor, it achieves a brightness of T2.9 at the wide-angle end. For example, this lens is capable of shooting in low-light environments such as indoor concerts.
By dividing the out-of-focus area into several layers and examining the texture of the bokeh, we achieved a bokeh that naturally blends from the in-focus area to the background.
Compatible accessories*5
The Fujinon HZK24-300mm Equipped with the same drive unit as portable broadcast zoom lenses. It can be operated in the same shooting style as broadcast lenses, using zoom demand and focus demand.
In addition to carrying it on the user’s shoulder, photographers can also take handheld shots using a Steadicam*6. It also supports multi-camera operation that allows multiple cameras to shoot simultaneously. This supports very efficient video production. By connecting to a wireless lens controller used at production sites such as movies and commercials, focus/iris/zoom can be controlled remotely.
It also supports focusing by a focus operator, which is the mainstream shooting style in the cinema industry. The gear pitch of the focus ring *7 is 0.8M (module). Standard peripheral accessories for video production such as follow focus and external motors can be used.

Fujinon HZK24-300mm functions that support comfortable shooting
It is equipped with “Breathing Compensation Technology” that automatically compensates for breathing (angle of view fluctuations) that occurs when focusing. The size of the subject does not change during shooting, resulting in natural-looking images.
Equipped with “Remote Back Focus (RBF)” that allows you to adjust the flange back *8 remotely through the camera or robotic control panel . Achieves highly accurate back focus adjustment while viewing large monitors in studios, broadcast trucks, etc.
The lens works with with “ZEISS eXtended Data” developed by Carl Zeiss in accordance with/i Technology9 . Lens metadata at the time of shooting can be output externally, making editing work more efficient after shooting.
