How the GoPro Hero12 Black Works:
The vertical viewing angle is 36% wider when shooting in widescreen mode, and 48% wider when shooting in portrait mode. It has twice the resistance to scratches compared to conventional products, and has a water-repellent lens coating that repels water droplets and has excellent durability.
Audio can be captured directly to HERO12 Black using Bluetooth devices (Apple AirPods, earphones, headphones, microphones, etc.). It can also handle scenes such as Vlogs and narrations where HERO12 Black is operated with voice commands from a remote location.
The 1/1.9 inch sensor provides top-class versatility. Shot in a expansive 8:7 aspect ratio, you can use it as is or crop it to 9:16 portrait, 16:9 widescreen, or traditional 4:3. 8:7 aspect ratio is now available for all video resolutions, and can also be used with TimeWarp, Timelapse, Nightlapse, and all Night Effects modes. Horizontal videos can also be produced for SNS.
Great Visualizations
HyperSmooth 6.0 features a next-generation auto-boost feature that automatically activates video stabilization when needed. Crop margins are kept to a minimum and users will not notice any changes in crop levels. When used in conjunction with a linear + horizontal lock digital lens, it can maintain horizontality even in scenes where the camera rotates 360°. When using Max Lens Modular 2.0, this feature is included in all lens settings.
GP-Log and various built-in look-up tables (LUTs) give professional users more flexibility in post-production editing and color grading.
The GoPro HERO12 Black’s HyperView digital lens sets the new standard for immersive wide-angle video. With the optional Max Lens Modular 2.0, you can also choose the wide-angle Max HyperView. “Easy Control” for users seeking high convenience has evolved, and “Pro Control” for advanced users seeking high control and efficiency has also been further refined.
Light painting, light trails, and star trails make pro-level shots as easy as pressing a button. Interval shooting adds to the suite of power tools, which lets users capture videos and photos in unique ways. Interval photography takes photos at regular intervals. The interval can be set from 0.5 seconds to 120 seconds.
Sync any number of HERO12 Black cameras for easy editing in leading applications like Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premier.
GoPro Hero12 Stability
HERO12 Black’s mounting fingers incorporate 1/4-20 threaded holes for other mounts, allowing users to use standard camera mounts and accessories.
It’s a feature for GoPro subscribers that automatically uploads content to GoPro cloud accounts while the camera is charging. Once the upload is complete, users will receive an automatically created highlight video. GoPro Cloud accounts allow unlimited uploads of all GoPro footage in original quality.
HERO12 Black is waterproof to a depth of 10m even without a housing. This demonstrates the GoPro toughness and the ability of it to withstand harsh environments. GoPro subscription users can take advantage of “any reason” replacement coverage for damaged cameras.
GoPro is planning to release a new 122cm extension pole. Folds down to just 25cm and secures with HERO12 Black’s new 1/4-20 mounting screw. It also comes with a mounting finger and is compatible with all GoPro cameras.
The new extension pole comes with a detachable and waterproof Bluetooth remote shutter. Even with the pole fully extended, you can easily operate the GoPro HERO12 Black’s shutter. The new remote controller is compatible with HERO12 Black, HERO11 Black, HERO11 Black Mini, and HERO10 Black. It is scheduled to be released in October 2023.
GoPro Qwik Desktop Application
The new Quik desktop app is available for free for limited time to GoPro subscription users. Quik Desktop brings the speed and convenience of the Quik mobile app to desktop users, while providing additional functionality that takes advantage of the processing power and large screen of a personal computer.
Editing from one app can easily be done in the Qwik desktop app. This is because of easy synching, and this makes for much better editing. The Mac version of Quik Desktop is available from Novemer 1, and the Windows version is scheduled to be released in summer 2024
