The V-AF series of lenses are small, lightweight cine autofocus lenses made for all video creators, from individual video creators to small-scale productions and filmmakers. The SAMYANG V-AF 100mm T2.3 has been added to the V-AF series lineup, which currently includes 24mm, 35mm, 45mm, and 75mm lenses., making it possible to create a variety of video content with a variety of focal lengths from wide-angle to telephoto.
Product Features
Optimized for gimbals and drones
The V-AF series consistently uses a compact size of Φ72.2mm and weighs 280g from wide-angle to telephoto. The previous SAMYANG V-AF 45mm T1.9 is 13.3mm longer than other V-AF lenses, but the focus ring is aligned, and the center of gravity of the lens is unified. This makes it easier to set up and adjust balance when changing lenses, and significantly reduces shooting time with gimbals and drones.
The V-AF 45mm T1.9 is suitable for portraits and everyday snapshots, and the bright aperture of T2.3 beautifully blurs the background and makes the subject stand out.
8K compatible, unified color tone
V-AF lenses support high resolutions, including up to 8K cameras. Additionally, since the color tone is unified in accordance with SAMYANG’s CCI standard, post-production time is shortened when shooting with multiple V-AF lenses.
LED Tally Lamp
Equipped with tally lamps on the front and sides of the lens that display the shooting status with LEDs. When you start recording, the color of the lamp changes from green to red, so you can prevent “accidents” where recording is not possible, and you can check whether recording is in progress even when taking selfies.
SAMYANG V-AF 100mm Comes with Metal Accessory Mounts
Equipped with an electronic connector, the dedicated accessory “V-AF Manual Focus Adapter” (sold separately) can be attached. It is said that it is possible to expand it into a full-fledged cinema lens.
Quiet and fast autofocus
A linear STM motor works in conjunction with the camera to achieve fast and quiet autofocus.
Smooth focus movement during camera recording
The lens is equipped with “Linear MF mode,” the focus position can be set according to the rotation angle (300°) of the focus ring. Furthermore, by attaching the optional “CineKit” follow focus, users can make more detailed adjustments to the focus position.
In addition, the focus speed can be adjusted by installing the separately sold “Lens Station” accessory and the dedicated software “Lens Manager” on any PC.
Custom switch and focus hold button mounted on the side of the lens
The custom switch allows users to change the focus ring’s operation mode to MF or aperture adjustment by flipping the switch. Switch settings can be changed using the Lens Manager software.
The focus hold button can be used for the focus hold function (in AF mode) and focus save function (in MF mode). Users can also assign functions such as “Eye AF” from the camera body.
