AstrHori releases AH-MGA170 macro focusing rail

AstrHori announced the AH-MGA170 macro focusing rail. In the camera macro lens market, high-magnification lenses with a magnification of 5x have appeared in recent years, replacing the conventional lenses with a magnification of around 2x, and photographic expression, subjects, and shooting methods have changed dramatically. In particular, with higher magnification, the depth of field becomes extremely shallow, making focus stacking shooting necessary. The newly released micro focusing rail “AH-MGA170” incorporates a mechanism similar to that of the micro stage used in microscopes, which enables highly precise control even in 5x high magnification macro photography, resulting in beautiful photos with every minute object in focus.

Macro Focusing Rail

AstrHori’s macro focusing rail “AH-MGA170” was newly developed for high-magnification macro photography. It is designed for high precision and stable operation, and is said to be ideal for focus stacking photography. The rail has an adjustable range of 160mm, allowing you to shoot a wide range without moving the tripod.

High Precision Control System

One turn of the AH-MGA170’s fine adjustment handle allows for 0.5mm of movement, and one turn of the fine adjustment table handle allows for 2mm of movement. This high-precision control system is fully compatible with not only regular 2x macro lenses, but even super macro lenses of 5x or more, allowing for higher-definition photography.

Perfect for focus stacking

The AH-MGA170 is said to provide optimal support for focus stacking photography, which requires precision.

Arca-Swiss compatible

The camera mounting plate is Arca-Swiss compatible. Base plate fixing screws are included, so the rail can be installed on a table or other surface.
