Wise CFexpress 4.0 Type A card and card reader released

Wise announced the new Wise CFexpress 4.0 Type A Card, and the USB4-compatible card reader “Wise CFexpress 4.0 Type A Card Reader RD-40CXA. These new produccts are due out on September 6, 20254. These new CFXpress cards are compatible with digital single-lens cameras and professional camcorders. The lineup of new products is as follows:

The “Wise CFexpress 4.0 Type A Card” is a CFexpress 4.0 compliant memory card that can record high quality photos and videos with Sony digital single-lens cameras and professional camcorders. It has been confirmed to work with many cameras, including the α1, α9 III, FX30, and FX3. With a high-speed transfer performance of up to 1865MB/s, it is possible to stably record high-resolution, high-frame-rate slow and quick motion videos and high-speed continuous shooting that cannot be recorded with SD cards. It also supports “VPG400,” which has a minimum sustained write speed of 400MB/s or more when shooting video.

The Wise brand has many CFexpress Type B card products, which have been highly praised by professional users who shoot in harsh environments such as sports and documentaries. The “Wise CFexpress 4.0 Type A Card” was developed based on that track record and is Wise’s first high-speed memory card product compatible with CFexpress 4.0 Type A.

The “Wise Type A Card Reader RD-40CXA” is a reader/writer for CFexpress Type A cards that supports the high-speed transfer speed (40 Gbps) of USB4. If you connect it to a computer with a USB4 compatible port, you can import camera data at high speed using almost the same transfer speed as the CFexpress Type A card.
