LAOWA Ranger Super 35 Series Lenses Released

Venus Optics announced the new LAOWA Ranger Super 35 series of compact cinematic zoom lenses. These lenses are going to be available for preorder from the time of publishing, August 30th 2024. The price varies depending on location of order. These lenses are specifically designed for the Super 35 format and come in a variety of mounts.

Lightweight and compact

A lightweight and compact zoom lens. Its compact yet powerful design offers a wide zoom range with excellent optical performance. It is ideal for shooting in small spaces and majestic landscapes. It is also ideal for one-person production and on-the-go shooting, and is seamlessly compatible with handheld shooting, gimbals, and FPV drones. The LITE version has the same optical system as the regular version, but by using a magnesium alloy for the exterior, it is approximately 10% lighter.

The series is made up of three lenses, 11-18mm, 17-50mm, and 50-130mm, with a total zoom range of over 11x, the widest in the S35 market, and is designed to meet the diverse needs of modern filmmakers. The three lenses in the series cover a wide zoom range from 11mm to 130mm, providing a total zoom range of over 11x, the largest in their class. By using the Ranger S35 lenses as a set, filmmakers can visualize the story they envision, from ultra-wide angles to zooming for precise framing. In addition, the diverse zoom range allows for a variety of zoom techniques to be expressed.

The easy-to-use Ranger S35 series has a T2.9 aperture across all three lenses. The large aperture makes it easy to use in low light environments, ensuring seamless performance even in dim scenes. It also allows you to shoot backgrounds with blurred backgrounds to create a more beautiful story.

Parfocal Design

The excellent parfocal design maintains accurate focus even when zooming in and out, keeping the subject sharp.

Suppresses focus aberrations:

By suppressing focus breathing, you can shoot without being distracted by changes in the angle of view when moving the focus position from one subject to another. This ensures natural focus movement and provides an immersive video experience. The three lenses in the series have minimum focusing distances of 36cm, 35cm, and 75cm, respectively, allowing you to capture every detail of your subject and tell your story in a variety of framing situations. The Ranger S35 lens features high optical performance and delivers outstanding image quality and natural colors. It maintains sharpness, high contrast, and accurate color reproduction even when shooting wide open or close up, allowing you to capture captivating visuals .

Professional Cine Housing

The Ranger S35 series is available in a professional cine housing, suitable for productions of various scales. All three lenses have a 77mm filter thread and an 80mm outer diameter, allowing them to be used with screw-in filters and matte boxes. The lenses feature a dual scale system that displays both feet and meters.

Default PL mount and six additional mounts (sold separately)

The lens comes with an Arri PL mount, and optional EF/RF/X/E/Z/L replacement mounts allow compatibility with a variety of camera mounts.
