Crescent Corporation, in Japan, acquired a 4,100m2 site within the Haneda Ironworks Industrial Park Cooperative Association in Showajima, Ota Ward, Tokyo. They announced plans to open the world’s largest digital integrated studio, centered around an LED wall-type virtual production studio, as well as office space, to which it will also transfer its development section and head office functions. The opening of the studio and relocation of the head office are scheduled for February 2026.
Through this, Crescent Corporation aims to utilize the facility not only for cutting-edge video production purposes, but also as a base for the company’s purpose of “utilizing image engineering to contribute to the development of Japan as an industrial nation,” as a space to realize various forms of DX and XR in all industries, and as a place where it can co-create and engage in trial and error with many companies. The facility consists of two buildings: an LED Stage building measuring 40m x 30m and 15m high, and a three-story Production building of the same size.
The LED Stage
Crescent announced the LED Stage building will be mainly composed of 1.95mm pitch, 2,000NITS LEDs newly developed by Taiwan’s AUO for this LED Stage building (consisting of a 10m high, 42m wide main LED, a ceiling LED, and two movable LEDs), and the tracking devices will be 60 VICON Valkyrie VK26s, Service Vision’s Scorpio 35′ telescopic crane, and the digital cinema camera SONY VENICE 2 for evaluation tests.
With the cooperation of Image Studio Ichimarukyu Co., Ltd., this building aims to enable flexible response in studio facility design, equipment selection, and operation.
The Production building will have two 4DViews Holosys-3 studios (20m x 20m, 8m high and 10m x 10m, 6m high), a Volumetrics system with greatly improved image quality, two Esper Photogrammetry systems (for face and full body), a motion capture studio (10m x 20m) with LED walls for pre/post-visualization, and one MA room capable of recording audio. Each studio will have multiple dressing rooms, allowing for spacious filming.
In addition, a cafeteria and meeting booths will be set up along the waterfront, allowing for a variety of meetings and small parties, making it a comfortable space to be used. The rooftop on the fourth floor will have an open space measuring 39m wide and 14m deep, allowing for photography with a distant view of Haneda Airport and Mt. Fuji, or for green screen photography using natural light.
In preparation for the opening of the facility, the company is actively seeking to attract overseas customers, particularly from Asia, with the aim of obtaining security screening and certification from the Trusted Partner Network (TPN). Tanaka Civil Engineering Co., Ltd. is in charge of the overall design and construction, and the financing is being undertaken through a syndicated loan agreement with Awa Bank and the Shoko Chukin Bank as joint arrangers.
