NAB 2025

EIZO Corporation joined the KAIROS Alliance Partners, a partnership between IT and video-related equipment manufacturers and suppliers of the KAIROS IT/IP platform, Panasonic Entertainment and Communications. As part of this partnership, the EIZO 30.5-inch HDR reference monitor, the ColorEdge PROMINENCE CG1 (hereafter referred to as CG1), was tested and compatibility was confirmed between KAIROS. The CG1 is the company’s first monitor to support SMPTE ST 2110*, and is the world’s first reference monitor to be compatible with KAIROS.
NOTE: SMPTE ST 2110 is a standard that defines a method of transmitting video data over IP networks, and the transition from the SDI standard is being promoted primarily by broadcasters.
About Panasonic KAIROS
Panasonic’s KAIROS is a solution used on-site for live video production, such as live event streaming, television broadcasting, and sports broadcasting. Its IT base allows for low-latency output of complex, sophisticated video, and its IP conversion makes it compatible with network transmission and remote operation, enabling flexible, high-quality video production in an environment optimal for on-site needs.
KAIROS is a CPU/GPU-based open architecture product that can easily link with external devices and systems. Panasonic has partnered with IT and video equipment manufacturers and suppliers to establish “KAIROS Alliance Partners,” a partnership aimed at promoting collaboration with KAIROS and system integration.
EIZO and Kairos Collaboration

By utilizing KAIROS with the EIZO CG1, it is possible to create a production environment where everything from video input to output is handled by the ST 2110. Because the ST 2110 can handle video sent in uncompressed format, it is possible to transmit and display high-quality video data such as 4K high-resolution and 12-bit 4:4:4.
Because the CG1 can receive ST 2110 output from the KAIROS, there is no need to install converters or gateways. This not only reduces the amount of equipment in the system, but also makes it possible to check the validity of the ST 2110 output in advance. In addition, both the KAIROS and CG1 are compatible with NMOS*2 and ST 2022-7, making it possible to build a network system with NMOS control and redundancy.
NOTE: NMOS (Networked Media Open Specifications) is a protocol standard for controlling and managing devices on IP networks, standardized by the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA).
Looking Forward
Through this collaboration, the two companies aim to contribute to creating a higher quality video production environment and more efficient workflows for the video production industry, where high productivity is required every day.
The EIZO CG1 will be exhibited at the EIZO booth (SL5829) and Panasonic’s booth (N1311) at the NAB Show 2025 to be held in Las Vegas from April 6th to 10th, 2025.
