At the Shoten Kobo / Focus Studio booth at CP+2025, the world premiere show for cameras and photography, the company has released information on products to be exhibited, including those under the TTArtisan and Viltrox brands which they sell in Japan.
TTArtisan Instant Camera “203T-Folding”
The suggested retail price is yet to be determined, and it is scheduled to be released in the fall of 2025. This is a classic folding style camera is back as an instant camera. When folded, it becomes a thin box shape that is convenient to carry. The film used is for instax mini format (screen size 62mm x 46mm). Focusing is possible with a distance-coupled meter, achieving accurate focusing. The style harkens back to old fashioned 120 film box cameras.
The aperture can be set from F3.5 to F22, the shutter speed from 1/300 to 1 second, and B mode. It is a purely mechanical camera and does not require batteries. It is a full-fledged eco-camera that focuses on design and manual operation.
TTArtisan “AF 14mm F3.5” E-mount APS-C size
TTArtisan’s section of the Shoten Kobo at CP+2025 showcased this lens in particular. It is scheduled to be released in March 2025. The TTArtisan AF 14mm f/3.5 Sony E-mount has a compact design and is a lightweight model weighing approximately 98g. Its light weight makes it an ideal lens for everyday use and travel.
With a wide-angle focal length equivalent to approximately 21mm (35mm conversion), it is useful in a variety of scenes, including indoor photography, tabletop photography, and landscape photography.
It is equipped with a fast and quiet autofocus driven by the latest STM (stepping motor). It quickly captures the subject even when shooting moving scenes or street snapshots. It also supports eye AF, so you won’t miss the shutter opportunity when taking portraits. The maximum aperture is f/3.5. It is said to be capable of stable, sharp depiction under various lighting conditions, from bright daylight to soft twilight.
TTArtsian “AF 23mm F1.8” for X-mount
The suggested retail price is 29,000 yen (tax included) and will be released in January 2025. The TTArtisan AF 23mm f1.8 X-mount is a lightweight, high-performance AF-compatible prime lens. Equipped with an STM (stepping motor), it enables smooth and quiet autofocus.
The focal length is approximately 35mm (35mm equivalent), making it suitable for street photography, landscapes, portraits, and other snapshots. It produces sharp and clear images. The lens barrel is made of durable aircraft-grade aluminum and weighs just 210g. The bright F1.8 aperture suppresses noise even in dark scenes such as indoors and night scenes, reducing subject blur and camera shake. It also makes use of bokeh to beautifully highlight the subject.
Viltrox “AF 35mm F1.2 LAB FE”
The suggested retail price has not yet been decided, and it is scheduled to be released in April 2025. The LAB series is the highest-end line of the Viltrox brand, and is characterized by high image quality and high standards. The Viltrox AF 35mm F1.2 LAB is the second lens in the LAB series, a large-aperture autofocus lens compatible with full-frame cameras. It has an optical configuration of 15 elements in 10 groups (5 ED lenses, 3 high-refractive lenses, and 2 aspherical lenses).
By pursuing outstanding optical performance, this lens achieves sharp depiction across the entire range while also fully expressing the texture of delicate subjects such as skin and hair. In addition, the large aperture of F1.2 produces smooth and delicate bokeh and exquisite background bokeh with no peripheral light falloff.
It features two customizable Fn buttons and a multi-function control ring, allowing you to adjust the settings to suit your shooting style. Another feature is the customizable color display.
Viltrox “AF 85mm F1.4 Pro”
The suggested retail price has not yet been decided, and it is scheduled to be released in April 2025. A new large-aperture autofocus lens compatible with full-frame cameras has been added to the PRO series. Compared to previous models, the resolution has been improved by 32%, and the 11-blade circular aperture mechanism has achieved beautiful bokeh. Equipped with a dual Hyper VCM motor developed in-house, it enables high-speed autofocus with a focusing time of 0.15 seconds.
The optical system is made up of 15 elements in 11 groups (3 ED lenses and 9 high refractive lenses). Its outstanding optical performance ensures sharp and clear images across the entire screen, while also expressing the delicate texture of skin, hair, and other elements. In addition, the large aperture of F1.4 produces smooth and delicate bokeh and beautiful background bokeh with reduced peripheral light falloff.
Viltrox “AF 50mm F2.0 AIR”
The suggested retail price has not yet been decided, and it is scheduled to be released in April 2025. A lightweight, full-frame compatible autofocus lens has been added to the AIR series. With a standard angle of view of 50mm, it naturally reproduces the delicate texture of skin, hair, etc.
It is a versatile lens that can be used for any scene, from portraits and street snaps to landscape photography and everyday snapshots, and is a product that is supported by a wide range of users from beginners to professionals. The optical system is composed of 13 elements in 9 groups (3 ED lenses and 4 high refractive lenses), achieving both high resolution and beautiful bokeh.
