Thin, lightweight design, weighing 58g and 16mm thick.

The TTArtisan mini AF 24mm f/3.8 is a pancake lens that, despite being compatible with 35mm full-frame cameras, achieves a slim body weighing approximately 58g and measuring approximately 16mm thick. With an outer diameter of approximately 60mm, it keeps the overall size of the camera compact even when mounted.

When paired with a compact mirrorless camera, it reduces the burden of carrying it around. The lens barrel features a simple, classic design, making it ideal for uses where you frequently carry your camera, such as walking around town, traveling, and taking everyday snapshots.

Photographic expression achieved through a 24mm wide-angle lens and a minimum focusing distance of 0.3m.

With a 24mm focal length wide-angle lens, you can capture not only your subject but also a wide view of the surrounding landscape and space. It’s suitable for situations where you want to capture a wide area in a single shot, such as cityscapes, landscapes, and indoor photography.

The minimum focusing distance is 0.3m. You can get close to and photograph familiar subjects such as food, small objects, and plants. You can also combine the foreground subject with the background to create compositions that take advantage of the perspective unique to wide-angle lenses.

Autofocus via VCM and a fixed aperture of F3.8.

Despite being a slim pancake lens, it employs a VCM (voice coil motor) for autofocus drive. The manufacturer claims this enables smooth and quiet focusing. When paired with compatible cameras, eye and face detection autofocus is also available.

On the other hand, the aperture is fixed at F3.8, and it is not possible to change the F-number like with typical interchangeable lenses. Exposure adjustments must be made using shutter speed, ISO sensitivity, etc., and it does not support adjusting the depth of field with the aperture.

Its key features include a slim and lightweight design that prioritizes portability while maintaining autofocus functionality.

Openable and closable lens barrier and 6-group, 6-element optical configuration

The front of the lens has a built-in lens barrier that opens and closes with a sliding lever. This allows you to expose the front of the lens and take pictures without removing the separate front cap.

When not using the lens, the barrier can be closed to protect the front, increasing convenience when repeatedly putting the device in and taking it out of a bag.

The optical system consists of 6 elements in 6 groups, including two aspherical lenses and two ED (extra-low dispersion) lenses. While miniaturizing the lens, the design prioritizes suppressing aberrations and maintaining a balanced overall image rendering.

The manufacturer also suggests incorporating the flare that occurs in backlit situations into photographic expression. They envision using it in snapshots, for example, by including a strong light source in the composition to make the most of the flare.
