Apple announced the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the new M5 chip, which boasts improved AI processing, faster storage, and longer battery life.
The new 14-inch MacBook Pro will be available in two colors: space black and silver. Pre-orders will begin on October 15, 2025, with sales scheduled to begin on Wednesday, October 22.

The M5 chip is the latest generation of Apple silicon and leads the advancement of AI capabilities in the Mac. The chip features a next-generation GPU with a Neural Accelerator in each core, delivering up to 3.5x faster performance in AI-related workflows and up to 1.6x faster graphics performance compared to the previous generation. Enhancements to the CPU and Neural Engine, combined with high memory bandwidth, accelerate a wide range of processes, from application launch to running large language models (LLMs) on-device.

The new 14-inch MacBook Pro also boasts improved SSD performance, enabling faster tasks like reading RAW image files and exporting large video files. With up to 24 hours of battery life, professional work can continue even without a power source.
Better CPU Performance
This model offers a significant performance boost for users looking to upgrade from an Intel-based or M1 chipset. Compared to Intel-based systems, it delivers up to 86x faster AI performance and up to 5.5x faster CPU performance. Even those upgrading from an M1 chipset will see up to 6x faster AI performance and up to 2x faster CPU performance.
The display continues to use the Liquid Retina XDR display, with an option for Nano-texture glass. It boasts a peak HDR brightness of up to 1,600 nits, enabling high-definition image expression. It also features a 12-megapixel center-frame camera, a 6-speaker sound system with spatial audio, and a wide range of connectivity ports.

The latest version of macOS Tahoe will be available, including improvements to Spotlight search and a new Phone app that deepens integration with iPhone. Apple Intelligence will also be integrated, enhancing the user experience with features like live translation and automated shortcuts while protecting privacy.
Continuing the company’s commitment to the environment, the product’s housing is made from 100 percent recycled aluminum, all magnets are made from 100 percent recycled rare earth elements, and 45 percent of the product’s weight is made from recycled materials.
