Canon will release the new CR-N400/CR-N350 remote camera systems for video production, which will enable remote production via IP, in late January 2026.
In recent years, the video production market has seen a rise in demand for video content, leading to a growing need for remote production that enables lower costs and labor savings. Canon is targeting this market with the release of two new indoor remote cameras for video production that are capable of capturing high-quality video.
The CR-N400 is equipped with a 12G-SDI terminal and a timecode terminal, supporting professional video production such as broadcast studio shooting and sports broadcasting, while the CR-N350 supports 4K60P output and has a terminal configuration that prioritizes the functions required for online distribution, meeting the needs of those who want to shoot and distribute high-quality video on a budget.

Canon CR-N400/CR-N350 Main Features
Rich video expression with support for up to 4K60P output
The CR-N400/CR-N350 are equipped with a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor and the DIGIC DV7 image processing platform, enabling high-quality 4K60P output/4:2:2/10-bit video capture. They also support HDR shooting, making it possible to capture rich colors and smooth gradations even in scenes with large differences in brightness and darkness.
20x optical zoom / Advanced zoom of up to approximately 40x is possible when shooting in full HD
The CR-N400/CR-N350 are equipped with a 20x optical zoom lens. Furthermore, unlike typical digital zoom, when shooting in full HD, they feature “Advanced Zoom,” which allows for a maximum zoom of approximately 40x (equivalent to a focal length of approximately 29.3-1202mm) while maintaining high image quality. This allows for a wide range of scenes to be shot with just one camera, from wide-angle bird’s-eye views to powerful zoomed-in footage.

A wide range of terminals and functions/applications that support efficient video production
The CR-N400 is equipped with a 12G-SDI output terminal that can output 4K60P video, as well as a time code terminal, Genlock terminal, XLR audio terminal, etc., and can be used in the same production environment as the higher-end model CR-N700 (released in December 2022) and broadcast cameras.
The CR-N400/CR-N350 also feature an auto-tracking application that allows the camera to automatically track the subject as they move. By purchasing a paid license, a composition assist function that helps with more natural shooting becomes available, supporting smooth video production. Furthermore, like the CR-N700, it is compatible with the PC app “Camera Color Matching Application,” which simplifies color matching with the main camera, which serves as the color reference.
