LAOWA announced the start of orders for the new “LAOWA 8-15mm F2.8 FF Zoom Fisheye” lens in Fujifilm G (GFX) mount and Hasselblad X (XCD) mount, a new addition to their lineup of lenses, this time for large format sensors.
Product features
The LAOWA 8-15mm F2.8 FF Zoom Fisheye is a large-aperture F2.8 lens that uses a zoom mechanism to achieve a variety of fisheye effects. At the wide-angle end, it achieves a 180° angle of view at a focal length of 8mm. With a minimum focusing distance of 16cm, it is possible to obtain dynamic images that make the most of perspective. With the addition of the GFX mount and XCD mount, it can now also be used with large-format mirrorless cameras.
Note
The image circle of this lens is designed for full-frame systems, so even at a focal length of 15mm it does not fully cover the diagonal fisheye of large-format Fujifilm GFX and Hasselblad X system cameras, which have larger sensor sizes than full-frame cameras.

On a large format camera, a focal length of 10mm provides the optimum angle of view for a circular fisheye lens.
Areas covered by each aspect ratio
By taking advantage of the various aspect ratios available in large format cameras, creative imagery can be achieved.
