The EVO series was born as a new “core prime” category in Viltrox’s lens lineup. Positioned between the conventional “Pro series (high-spec oriented)” and the “Air series (lightweight and budget-oriented),” it is a series that aims to optimize the balance of high performance, mobility, and price.

The Viltrox AF 35mm II F1.8 EVO is a full-frame compatible 35mm prime lens employing an APO design. It suppresses chromatic aberration that often appears around the edges of subjects, achieving clear and natural rendering even at the widest aperture of F1.8. Its natural 35mm angle of view and bright F1.8 aperture make it versatile for everyday snapshots, portraits, travel, and video shooting. It also allows for the enjoyment of creating a sense of depth with softly blurred backgrounds.
The optical design consists of 13 elements in 10 groups. Two ED lenses, three high-refractive-index lenses, and one aspherical lens are effectively positioned to pursue sharp image rendering from the center to the edges of the frame. A quiet and smooth STM motor is used for autofocus. It also supports a click-switch aperture ring, a custom Fn button, and firmware updates via USB Type-C, making it comfortable to use for both photos and videos.
